Blinded by her insatiable hunger for blood, Seras sat alone in the alleyway between two tents still ravaging her arm. The searing pain and crackling of bones breaking in her wrist didnt even phase the girl. Her sanity was dwindling. Still, after little more than a few minutes, the dhampir slowly pulled her teeth out of her limb. Incredibly pale and limp, even after the bleeding had slowed down, Seras' hand was still not useable. It wouldnt move, and no matter how hard she tried the girl simply could not feel it. Certainly she realized it would take perhaps quite a while to regain its use.
With a tummy full of a liquid that did little to quench her true thirst, seras slowly stood, her legs shaking and a hand shading her eyes from the bright sun. It didnt take long for her to again feel quite fatigued. The dhampir's eyes were very dull and of the most blood red colour.
Suddenly, a familiar scent caught Seras' attention, immediately drawing her out to look about. "Damian..." a thought escaped her trembling, blood stained lips. To any onlookers, it was very apparent what she was. Her cheeks and arms were bloodstained and almost dripping still, her fangs long and sharp, her eyes an inhuman colour. It was almost as if Seras didnt notice anyone staring or standing clear of her as she walked in the direction of her master's scent. It wasnt too far off. However, as she pressed on at a slow speed, a great limp in her stride, the determined vampiress ignored all others and they very well were afraid and ran off upon seeing such a sight.
Seras turned down an adjacent path behind a tent and was horrified. She couldnt even muster the strength or will to scream out her master's name. Even at quite a distance, her vampiric vision had positively caught a glance of Damian, an he was speaking with another woman whom was wearing a skimpy outfit. Seras knew the scene all too well. There had been plenty of times she'd gotten strangely attached to her abuctors and abusers, only to have them leave and dump her like garbage. To see Damian with another woman, it depressed her severely, instilling a rage like no other. Her eyes were glowing with a fierocity so intense even the air around her seemed heated. She clenched her teeth hard, drilling her fangs into her lower lip. Bloodied tears poured out of her eyes as the crimson faded out of them all but completely.
With a manic attitude, Seras charged at the woman with inhuman speed, catching them just before the two entered her trailer. Seras slammed the woman away from Damian, nearly putting her through the wall of the trailer, shattering a small window. The broken glass shards didnt bother her in the least as she held the woman's arms aside, her clutch so strong it broke her bones. With a ravenous attitude matching that of an animal, Seras beared her long sharp fangs. She bit down into the woman hard, crushing her throat and tearing her arteries open. Blood poured down Seras' throat and it was fantastic! The taste made her quiver in delight and ravage her neck more. She held the woman's body slammed against a massive dent in the side of the trailer from the impact, the dhampir's good hand pressing into her chest so hard now a few ribs cracked. To get a better grip with only one arm at her disposal, Seras took her nails and stabbed her fingers into the prostitute's chest with all her strength. Every time the lady wanted to scream, she only coughed up more blood and fed the creature more. Seras was far from her humanity now. It was like she was posessed.
In a matter of seconds, before Damian could even react, Seras had shown him a side of herself the girl never knew. It was the monster within her she had always feared.
Suddenly, there was what sounded to be a small gunshot that rang out into the air, and two wired prongs drove themselves into Seras' back. They were made of pure silver and immediately prompted a reaction. Seras let out a demonic scream and quivered in pain. The pure silver wreaked havoc enough upon her tattered body, but on the other end of the wires was a security officer holding a taser gun. He pumped thousands of volts of electricity into her frail body, nearly stopping her heart. As Seras was incapacitated by security, a second man immediately rushed to aid the woman who had been attacked, but she was already dead. Her neck was torn to shreds and broken pieces of her ribs had punctured her heart.
Before they would even give Damian the time of day, one of the officers put handcuffs and a neckcuff on Seras. They were titanium with a silver coating and were commonplace in law enforcement against vampires. Between the chains and the burning of silver, it typically would keep creatures of the night at bay.
Seras began to come to and naturally fought her captors, but they held onto her chains tight and brought her under control enough to put an added facemask on her.
"I never thought we'd run into one of these during the day." one man commented almost fearfully to the other. He shrugged it off.
"Are you alright, sir?" the man not escorting Seras away approached Damian, completely unaware of his relationship to the creature. "Im so sorry for your loss."
The silver burned away at her skin even more than the daylight did, but as Seras was forced to leave Damian she strugged harder with every step. Finally, the security guard opted to beat her with his billy club. The bitter hatred people had for vampires was quite clear. They werent humane about her capture at all, only taking her alive because it was protocal. Vampires were rarely given a fair trial if one at all, but like humans they had to be brought in alive when possible. However, most who killed a vampire could easily get away with it merely because society rarely worked in their favour.

Damian had smiled and laughed at the woman as she led her to her trailer. She was quite beautiful and he could only imagine her radiance if she wasn't living a life of selling herself because that stole some of her radiance. But it was neither Damian's problem nor would he offer a solution. He thought briefly of Seras but pushed those thoughts away. Seras would never find out. He'd have his fun with this woman, shower in some hotel, call her and apologize, maybe send some flowers (from the usual boutique he did business with) and say he left for a business meeting and be home in a few days when her scent was sure to have left his body.
Before the woman and Damian could enter her trailer Seras appeared out of no where. Damian couldn't even utter 'It's not what it looks like' because he was too stunned to talk. Oh, had he not been in shock the human woman would still be alive, most certainly. But Damian was frozen in silence because he was just too shocked. Seras hurt this woman, she was bleeding from her neck, arteries, and it was possible that she was also bleeding from her mouth, nose and ears - there was just too much blood to tell. Her glittery skimpy outfit was now slick and matted down with blood, and there was so much blood on her face and neck you couldn't tell her skin color!
Seras was gentle and kind. She was also afraid of her own shadow. She said things like 'Yes Sir' and 'Yes Master' and she insisted on cooking and cleaning. Literally there was not a single thing out of place in his home. The tiles on the floor were scrubbed so much they were literally white and that tricky grime that gets between them was non-existent on both the kitchen floor tiles and in the bathroom. She always made sure that the fridge and cupboards were stocked with his favorite potato chips and the brands of beer and wine he enjoyed. How was it possible for this Seras... his lover to do this? And why?
Before Damian could move or blink security was on there way. Hopefully it was them and not someone else. But Seras was shot and then shot with electricity while Damian could just freeze in place wondering 'Is that *MY* Seras?' and hoping but knowing there was no such hope to be found that Seras didn't have an evil twin. Once Seras was under control (which was super easy) and Damian was embarrassed that he just stood there like a log he turned to watch the security officer look at the woman. But Damian couldn't hear her heartbeat and knew she was dead by the time he was checking for a pulse or any breathe, any sign of life he could find.
He turned away from the dead woman unable to look at her body anymore. Seras was now in cuffs. He knew those were special ones for vampires. Those chains were silver and even a strong vampire would have a hard time breaking out of them. But Seras was always so weak but even someone weak could crush a human like an ant. Damian's knees felt weak as he watched her struggle. He was glad she didn't call out his name. Didn't beg him, didn't bring attention to him. They put a face mask on Seras. He guessed it was so she wouldn't bite anyone. He had never seen any of this before. It was different killing a human or someone in human form, he'd only ripped people apart in animal form but it was... different. It was different!
A man spoke to him and it took Damian several moments to answer. "I...I'm...I...I..." he really didn't know what to say. "Oh my God!" He couldn't help but blurt out! He was glad this man took him for human and not were-tiger or else Damian would be carted away next to Seras with matching cells and charged with the crime too even though he didn't even do anything. He was glad the man thought he was with the human and not the vampire. Because Damian learned that Seras was right. She. Was. A. Monster. A. Monster!
"Oh my God!" he repeated as he turned and saw Seras getting beaten with billie clubs. It was a sight so shocking many people had stopped to gawk, the smart ones took out their cell phones and were recording this. Damian hurried to get away. He didn't want to be questioned by the police. He didn't want to be on any videos that were bound to hit places like Youtube and Google Image, CNN, MSNBC and any other popular news programs. He could just read the titles 'VAMP KILLS CIRCUS PROSTITUTE BECAUSE BILLIONAIRE BOYFRIEND WAS GOING TO CHEAT'. Yeah, Damian needed to get the hell out of there! "Sorry Seras" he whispered under his breath.

While the clubs continued to smash her, even amidst all the building commotion of onlookers, all that was clear to the dhampir just then was Damian's voice. In her peril, her telepathic vampire abilities came out their strongest. The girl within her was there still, barely, but surely hidden beneath a tulmultuous creature of the night. Ever still, her master's apology was as clear as the bright midday sky. It was the only time she was ever given such an apology, despite truthfully deserving one on numerous occaisions, though the girl hadnt ever realized it. His voice shattered her heart. It pained her so great to hear such a man she cared so greatly for admit doing something wrong, but also hearing him apologize to the likes of her. The vampire within her knew better, but the poor girl blamed herself for everything.
When blood tears continued to roll down her cheeks, it only made the guard tug on her chains and beat her more. Seras' body quivered, rolling in pain, but her mind loved every second of it. It was what she had been craving all along, though it continued to anger the vampire. However, the silver kept the monster in check and she eventually stopped resisting.
Seras knew exactly what she was doing. If she called out to Damian now, everyone would know they were involved. Through all the pain, Seras thought only to protect her master. But the more she thought about it the further she fell into a great depression. Who would take care of him? Who would clean and prepare his food just the way he liked it? In her mind Seras was convinced in her civic duties as a woman, ever determined to please her master, but in truth she was correct. She cleaned his apartment and cooked for him like no other. Now she would be unable and it destroyed her, fueling her hatred for vampires and in turn herself.
Somehow, however, inside and our, the vampire was still trying to regain the utmost control of the girl. With its recent kill and taste for human blood, it was winning. In one last effort, Seras spoke out to her lover, except just in her mind. He would surely hear the thought enter his mind, perhaps being confused afterwards. Afterall, the dhampir can always hear his thoughts but had never perfected whispering into his mind. Especially not from afar.
"Please, Master Damian... I love you... I forgive you... I forgive you! Please... Please let me come home... Please dont hate me..."
But of course, the channel she'd arbitrarily opened into Damian's mind didnt close soon enough and let him hear the rest of her thoughts as well.
"you wretched bitch! Are you blind? What a bloke! Didnt you hear him? Didnt you see the look of sheer terror on his face? That's right! He wont love you. He's terrified of you!"
"B-but... How could you... He.. He"
"he what? Was going to take us for granted? We did what we had to."
"No! But i didnt want that!"
"Oh bugger off! It felt wonderful and you know it! The taste of fresh blood trickling down your throat. Are you honestly about to tell me that that wasnt absolutely fantastic?"
"I...it was...no..."
"You just dont get it do you... That Damian will never love a monster!"
With that, Seras gave in mentally and emotionally to whatever monster reveled in taking over her body. The true Seras, a timid and wonderfully devoted girl, had her life shattered before her eyes. Perhaps Damian could hear her thoughts and understand her constant struggle of trying to fight off the advances of a vampiress who had no regard for humans. But Seras was convinced that the man surely did hate her for all eternity, and the feeling of being feared was sickening.
The silver chaines burned her incredibly as Seras was pulled along harshly and put into the back of a specially designed police cruiser that had arrived on the scene shortly. Seras was put into an enclosed portion in the back of the armored vehicle, completely shut off frome tge outside save for an opening in the too. Through it, sunlight was reflected in and via a clever array of mirrors the entire confines of the cage was illuminated. To a vampire, it was like standing on the sun, enough to render even the strongest unconcious. But seras was a veteran of torturing herself with uv rays. For the entire ride to the station, she was burning alive and awake to feel every second of it without mercy.
Upon her arrival, three men wearing bite resistant kevlar suits brought her out of the transport vehicle. They were shocked to see her still awake. The system was designed to shut off when there was no longer movement. The men resorted to stabbing at her with electrified rods with silver tips. Finally she came quietly and was put away in a vampure holding cell powerful enough to contain dracula himself. Seras was chained and shackled around every limb with silver and was cast into the dark room like garbage. The police had long since adopted a policy in handling vampires: "if they die, they die" and nobody ever protested.
Seras dreamed her master would come for her, but scolded herself believing he wanted her dead.

"Oh my God." Damian said again as he realized Seras was pregnant. It was as if the thought had vanished from his mind because a pregnant woman couldn't be shot, tased and beaten. She was beaten so severely that he wondered what would happen to their child! Would their child even be alive?
He stood in a far enough distance that no one even flickered their cameras at him. All the action was focused on Seras. Suddenly he heard her shouting to him. How embarrassing it was. He knew that she loved him. She forgave him and thought that he had it in his power to release her from prison. Then he realized that no one was looking at him. Was Seras in his mind...somehow? He had heard it was a vampire's power.
Then after he figured it out he started hearing weird stuff in his mind. It was like he was in his mind joined by two or three others. "Oh God." He whispered to himself again as realization dawned on him. Seras was really, really insane! "I'm not terrified of you." He whispered unable to speak in his mind as a vampire could. But he didn't say she wasn't a monster.
And even if he wanted to he couldn't. She was carted away in a special police car that was meant for vampires. His crazy Seras with multiple voices in her mind. What was she thinking now? He wished he could hear her. Call her. Contact her. But what could he do? If he went into the police station they would probably find out he wasn't human and arrest him and give him the death penalty.
He got in his car and drove. Where he was going he had no idea. He drove and saw a phone booth. He pulled over illegally and without taking the keys out of his car he jumped out. He searched for the lawyers and pulled out the page in an ad that would help Seras. He chose the law firm with the biggest ad in full color. He then dialed them and spoke to the lawyer. "My girlfriend was just arrested by the police for murder. She's a vampire, yeah. She needs a lawyer. Can you visit and help her now? Yes. Yes. No. Yeah. Name your price. I can wire the money by phone, but please. Leave me out of it and don't mention me to the police."
Damian then wired fifty thousand dollars as a retainer fee to the lawyer's firm. It only took three clicks from his cell phone. He was assured that the lawyer and his associates were on his way.

Seras opened her eyes slowly, painfully, as she began to gather her surroundings through a blurred vision. How long she had been chained in the dark room could be anyone's guess, but alas everything was as it was when she'd finally lost conciousness some time ago. The smell of dried blood on her skin enticed the vampire within her, but disgusted whatever humanity the halfbreed had left in her. As of late, her control over the creature was severely lacking due to her depression. It was almost as if she had human thoughts, but her actions were that of a creature of night. Watching her body do things her mind was never proud of hurt her psyche. Still, her eyes were crimson and her fangs were bared. This was the longest she could recall being in such a state, being taken over completely by her inner monster. It had such a strong hold on her it was unlikely to give up soon. But Seras had no will to fight it. In her mind, she was done. Doomed to rot in the cell for eternity. Nobody would come for her. No one would miss her, or notice her gone. No one would cry for her or say anything nice for her when she was finally killed to make room for another. But alas, the majority of Seras reveled in the fact, understanding that she would sacrifice all her natural human desires to rid herself of the monster thats plagued her all her life. Even if it meant to die with it, Seras was content. Afterall, she felt she deserved every bit of the vile, brutal torture. It made no difference if her vampire had been provoked, or how much her human side hated what she'd done.
Suddenly, the entire room lit up bright as day without warning. The heat and light burned her, bringing with it a horrible pain. But still, her tollerance dulled it to that of perhaps holding a hot cup of coffee. Now more than ever, Seras wished she could have at least the satisfaction of unimaginable pain to take her mind elsewhere.
"if it was up to me, you wouldnt get anything, hmph"
Seras heard an unfamiliar voice whisper under his breath, but it was too bright to see anything. She'd temporarily lost her vision to the burning previously. But just then, as the man looked up and noticed the vampire was almost drooling at the scent of even the blood substituteshe'd brought her, he called out for help. As the man fell back on his behind in fear, Seras grew confused as two policemen rushed into her cell. The scene did not look in her favour, despite having done absolutely nothing. Immediately, the men beat her unconcious with their clubs.
When Seras finally came to again, there was a dull pain radiating from her pelvic region. But she had been raped in her sleep before, this was certainly different. Just then, she remembered something that made her cower in fear. She had been pregnant before everything transpired. Now, she stood with her legs quivering and unable to hold her up had it not been for the chains around her arms and neck. There was profuse amounts of blood that had ran down her thighs but had since dried. The stench was different, frightening even. Seras knew exactly what happened without even looking at the thick, blood covered lump on the floor.
The miscarriage horrified her to an unheard of degree. Her one and only certain connection to Damian was now gone, and despite not wanting a baby herself, it hurt her greatly. She had killed the woman Damian was with, right in front of him. Now she considered herself the murderer of his child. In her mind, she may as well have birthed the child and killed it with her own two hands. There was no denying that even a healthy pregnancy without species complications couldnt have made it through the torture she'd endured, but the logical reasoning was nowhere to be found in Seras' head.
Now the girl knew, she truly had no one and nothing in her life. She'd long since forgotten and given up on her initial reasoning for coming to the united states. Damian was the last chance she'd mentally given herself towards a true attraction she felt towards another. Now that too was ruined. Seras knew deep down that the man never cared for her like she did for him. She knew he would never love a monster. And now his only potential obligatory tie to her was severed.
Seras gave up on herself completely. She could feel herself slipping away into what felt like a cold, lonely, willingness to fall fast asleep. But just as the vampire completely took over what little life was left in her body, leaving the human girl forgotten deep inside, the creature heard the door to her cell open. This time there were no bright lights. No beatings. Just a sad, yet angry tone of voice demand the police release her into medical care immediately. Seras was too much foregone into a vampiric monster to realize that Damian had called a reputable lawyer and they sent a representative to meet with her. He was obviously sympathetic and understanding of vampires, and disurbed to see her in such a state.
But the moment the guards approached Seras, she was strangely calm, almost appearing unconcious. When they released her arm chains the vampire wanted to strike and bite the man apart. Fangs beared, however, the dhampir was without strength and collapsed in her own waste of what used to be the makings of a child.
It was in that minute that even the lawyer realized that she was to be a difficult case. If they were to relocate her to a hospital she could get medical attention, but would most likely harm many as soon as the strength found her. But with vampirism so rampant in her system, would her healing be more prominent? Should she be left alone? Could she even be spoken to? All the years of suppressed desires culminated into not a sophisticated vampire but merely a bloodthirsty animal, devoid of reason or morals. She had already killed once in a most brutal fashion without any care. Nobody could realize the anguish and regret it caused her, but the human who felt such things was now burried deep.
The lawyer decided it was neccesary for Damian to make a decision as to their next actions. In her state, it would be a miracle if any hospital would even admit her for the unanimous fear she instilled. Had she the speed and strength of earlier, surely everyone in the room would be dead.
Like an animal, Seras lay on the floor in filth, chained in silver that burned her skin nearly to a crisp. Her treatment was far less than humane, but the lawyer himself was unsure if he'd even wish to try for a case regarding the matter. And so, the men left the creature alone in the room, to her own misery, with nothing to keep her company but the bloody remains of the last thing she had to hold onto of Damian. Though it wasnt certain she'd even recognize him as Seras was now.
"Mr Damian, Sir. I wish to speak with you in regards to your companion's case. Im afraid in our current predicament, and given her condition, its difficult to decide on the best course of action. I will advise you, however, of her hostility. Could we meet in person to discuss the matter further?"

Damian had done his workout to try and forget about Seras. It was hard. He could only hope that with her vampire healing their child was fine. He turned on the television wanting a distraction and found the news channel. It was talking about a vampire woman who had killed a woman at a circus. There was a horrifying video clip that was recorded by someone who had been there. He answered the phone because it was from the lawyer.
"Hello?" he asked. "Yes, we can meet. Give me thirty minutes." Even though Damian would rather not meet the lawyer. It would be a pain if the press found out who he was. But they wouldn't - hopefully. He showered, dried himself off and then put on a fancy suit. He found a cab on the street and took it to the meeting place. "Hello," he said as he shook the lawyers hand. "Damian Joseph Smith," he said giving the man his alias.

"The pleasure is mine. Please, have a seat." The lawyer did his best to smile as he offered Damian the chair opposite his own before his desk. The entire atmosphere of his office was certainly upscale and prestigious. Borderline pompous. There were various awards an certificates lining the walls, diplomas hanging above his desk. Along with various newspaper articles exemplifying the man's work.
Still, he put his hands atop the folder before him and sighed lightly, rubbing the bridge of his nose after taking his glasses off and gently sitting them down.
"Its a shame we have to meet under such circumstances, Mr Smith." the lawyer began, his eyes only maiing contact for a slight portion of a minute before drawing down to his paperwork. "I'm afraid I have some rather unfortunate news. " the man cleared his throat. "Excuse me. As i was saying, yes, I paid a visit to your companion earlier to disuss her current predicament." the lawyer paused for a moment, taking a deep breath. "The conversation with her did not pan out as Id hoped, or rather it hadnt at all. She was very destraught and I dare say, very much unapproachable. Her handling was lacking to say the least and the local authorities have been less than accomodating. However, as thing currently stand, the justice system has little sympathy for a vampire who's assaulted a human. It would not be wise to pursue any case on her well being. From what i gathered, she may very well be in need of medical attention, but it is up in the air at the moment, Sir. Its unlikely a doctor will see her due to her hostility, but with her vampirism so rampant, well... Im not certain if there is any truth in it or not but i can assure you she was still alive, and no mere human could have survived such an ordeal."
The lawyer shuffled through a bit of paperwork, moreso to occupy himself than anything.
"I cannot condone her actions in the least, even for her kind, Mr. Smith, and I can assure you the courts will feel the same. However, how she has been treated since the incident is most unjust. The trouble with today's standards are that most men, women, and children are still very much afraid of her kind. They wont look kindly upon them. That is my experience, and ive done my very best to win cases for many. However, one way or another, society gets what it wants. Its very much unfortunate for your companion, but I do jest you wouldnt even quite recognize her as she is now? In all my experience i myself have never seen a more ravenous, bloodthirsty, vampire."
The lawyer spoke with a somber tone in his voice, conveying the seriousness of his situation. What he saw was like no other.
"If you knew her as otherwise, Mr. Smith, I daresay that woman is not whom Id witnessed earlier. Even in her last strength she would attempt to harm those who went near her, wether they meant her well or not. It would be very difficult to even attempt to relocate her to a hospital at this current juncture."
The lawyer took out a few documents. "Being as we were unable to determine the whereabouts of her immediate family, it is this firms discretion to assume she is without any. As such, you are presumably the only other person with whom she can be associated with? If so, it our current situation, the decision falls upon you, Mr. Smith as to what will become of your companion. As things stand, she can be turned over to complete discretion of the police, or we can pursue a a court trial. However, the latter may take months to arrange and its not certain the courts will wish to allocate time and resources to such a feat, considering her kind."
The man turned a few sheets towarda Damian, indicating where to sign for which documents, depending on his situation.
"Also, if you should so decide, this document will allow her to be released for medical treatment. However, as Ive mentioned, its unsure how such an act of transporting her will transpire. I myself have already beared witness to less than satisfactory terms of containment, even for a vampire. But, she isnt exactly making it easier for anyone either. It would seem most of our hands are tied, Mr. Smith"

"What about those not guilty by reasons of insanity defenses? I think Seras is... I really believe that she is insane. She's good at hiding it." He said. "I mean she's good at hiding her insanity. I didn't realize she was insane till today." In a way he was relieved Seras wasn't talking and cooperating. It meant she wasn't talking. He was also surprised that the lawyer wasn't asking him questions about the woman Seras killed and such. "I've also...I've also never seen her drink blood till today. I always buy her some at a bar and such but she refuses to drink any in public." He added.
"What would happen if she were turned over to the discretion of the police?" he asked as he looked at the papers he needed to sign. He knew that she needed medical treatment and then signed it at once not hesitating. "What if I were to talk to Seras via the telephone and ask her to cooperate? I know that she would listen to me. She always listens to what I say." He added.

The lawyer sighed slightly under his breath as Damian posed reasonable but unfortunate questions. It looked as if he almost wouldnt answer him.
"Its a terrible thing, I must admit, but the police are not... Well let me just say that currently it would be in their best interest to not bring your client any harm." he thought for a moment. "but of course that is only speaking matter of factly. That is to say its rarely how these sort of situations play out. As far a the public is generally concerned, in my experience, a murderer is a murderer, and being a vampire only makes things worse for her."
It appeared the lawyer had much experience in handling similar cases, but of course Seras' one was dire. Due to her story being on the news, it was apparant that most of the public weighed against her.
"Thank you for agreeing to let her be released into medical care, Mr. Smith. I do hope it pans out as such, but as ive mentioned her hostility is preventing mostly any actions, wether they were in her favor or not. Our hands are rather tied and im afraid the police are losing their patience."
Folding his arms across his chest, the man thought long and hard. "I daresay, perhaps you could be beneficial in calming her down, however, i do believe that doing such in person would be most effective. Also, the most dangerous and i would advise against it highly. Wether she was your companion or not, the woman i met was no longer the lady you knew, Mr. Smith."

Damian bit his lip. "I would like to talk to her in person - of course." He said knowing full well he couldn't risk media attention. He wondered if this was made international news. It probably was because the States was the only country in the world that made vampires legal. Everywhere else you just killed them immediately. All the vampires around the world were probably watching what would happen to Seras.
"Could I speak to her by phone if you don't recommend me talking to her in person?" He asked wondering what he would say to Seras 'be a good vampire and cooperate for the sake of their child?' He had not yet heard any such news of a miscarriage so he was still under the impression that her vampire body had healed from the billy clubs. "I really think she'd cooperate with me. I know that she would."

"To be frank, Mr Smith," the lawyer began, his tone serious as ever. " i dont quite know that speaking to her over the phone would be a possibility. She appeared only approachable by law enforcement officials when subdued."
Taking off his glasses, the man rubbed the bridge of his nose between his thumb and forefinger. " the problem lies in the fact that she isnt quite calm enough to be spoken to in person either. If she will even listen or understand is another matter to be considered. All the while, her life is very much at stake. The police surely wont wish to keep her long, and in the world we live in today, albeit it being an equally horrible crime, vampires are often executed. No trial. We live in the dark ages when it comes to dealing with their kind, im afraid. Its rather primitive i must admit, but it would seem the public enjoys it this way."
"In all honesty, i sympathize for you in your current predicament, MrSmith. I really do. However, in a best case scenario, your companion will be taken to a hospital, she will cooperate fully, and be given a fair trial. But i am in doubt if she could play her part."
Meanwhile, Seras slowly opened her eyes once more, only to again see nothing but a cold, clammy jail cell. Her chains had since been lengthened, allowing her to lay on the ground, or in her case to have fallen for lack of support by them. she noticed the burning had stopped, or simply dulled enough for her to not pay it any attention. However, the dhampir found out the hard way that when tampered with they still choked off her breathing with such an intense rush it nearly made her pass out. Her eyes were crimson and her fangs long and sharp.
She began pulling at the chains will all her strength. With so much of it left despite her torture, the girls vampirism had grown much stronger. Finally, after gnawing at her wrists and pulling with all her might, the shackles were off and the burning subsided. However, the neck brace would not budge before the chain simply broke. Still, she was free. Seras stood slowly, her weakened legs since healed but still fragile. Her body was still very much recovering from a miscarriage and multiple beatings, but the creature of the night had only her escape on her mind. Vivid memories of being locked away in a closet by a previous sexual sadist came to haunt her and the poor girl wanted out. As soon as she began to stir in her cell, however, guards came to check on her. Before they could react, one of them had their neck bitten open. Blood poured all over as Seras clung to him like a rabid animal. The other guard beat her off with his club, kicking her to the ground, but as he began to yell for help Seras lunged at him with such ferocity it would put even Damian's tiger to shame. She tore his throat out and shoved the man into a wall, smashing a crevice into the solid concrete.
With that, Seras was off. She ran sown the corridor as fast she could, it proved to be more of a hobbling. However, it wasnt long before an alarm began to sound. A guard approached her and shot her twice before being slaughtered. With a severe limp, a hand on her tummy, Seras lunged out a nearby window and took off into the city before anyone could realize which direction she'd gone. Thankfully, the sun had risen and the blood trail she was leaving began to burn away into the air.
Seras stumbled through adjacent alleyways before finally making it to a dead end. She was nearly halfway across town now, and collapsed behind a large dumpster. Seras took her hand away from her abdomen and watched as the blood trickled out. Her shirt was soaked to the brim with blood. Seras as a vampire and with an ounce of a human concious left had no idea what to do. She began to cry softly.

"Please. I'm sure that if Seras heard my voice...!" He tried to explain. He felt a bit hot and stiff in his suit. Was the air conditioner on? His throat was dry. Wasn't it good hospitality to offer him a glass of tea, water, coffee? He straightened his tie for what might have been the second or third time. "I'm sure that when Seras hears my voice she will come to her senses and obe... listen to me." He almost said 'obey' and he was quite sure that the lawyer knew what he was going to say.
"I'm sure that if a guard holds a phone up to her cell and she hears me she will listen and do what I say." He said thinking that he knew best for her. He crossed his legs and then uncrossed them, then he recrossed them with a different leg on top and then uncrossed them once more - obviously impatient with the lawyer and his lack of speaking urgent matters to Seras like 'don't tell anyone where you live' and 'drink blood for the baby' and 'take care of yourself for the baby'. But Damian knew that the lawyer he hired was the best so he would get Seras out of this alive. He just had to! But at least no one could execute someone pregnant.
Just then the lawyers secretary came into the room, "Excuse me sir but the police from the jail are on line two. It's an urgent matter."
Damian waited to hear more. Obviously interested in the phone call. He was lucky he had exceptional hearing as a were-Tiger.

Kindly excusing himself to take the call in private, little did the lawyer know that even beyond the door Damian could more than likely make out the frantic voice coming through the telephone receiver.
With what few minutes felt like a lifetime, finally the lawyer had made his way back into the room. He slumped in his chair and heaved a heavy sigh, again pinching the bridge of his nose after taking his glasses off.
"I do apologize about our interuption. Unfortunate as it may be, mr Smith, Im afraid ive done all i can in the way of guiding you towards a positive outcome for your partner. It would seem there has been an incident at the police barracks. It affects this case very negatively and I dont believe my services will be of any further use to you. "
With that, the man gave a lacksadaisical cough and immediately two others under his employment entered the room to escort Damian out. It would appear he wanted nothing further to do with the case for fear of the client.
"these two gentlemen can show you out. I cannot say its been a pleasure, Mr Smith. Good day."
Somewhere in an uncanny portion of town, a lone vampiress crouched in the shadows to regain her strength. Wounded terribly, the daylight was very much prohibiting her movement. Luckily, the alleyway provided much comfort from the harmful rays of the sun. Still, Seras wore a smile on her face. Despite acting like a bloodthirsty animal acting purely on instinct, somewhere deep inside here there was still a girl who loved all the pain. It brought a creepy smile across her blood stained lips. Still, most rational thought escaped her. Right then and there, all that mattered was the burning of gunshot wounds, and her thirst for blood increasing with every drop that her vampiric hearing picked up falling to the cold concrete below. If damian saw her now surely he wouldnt know what to make of the scene. Would he even recognize her?
Trying her best to get up, seras used the nearby wall for support. But it still took her a few minutes even to stand. She held her tummy and tried to get the bleeding to stop. With her healing it slowed very much but even still her clothing was drenched. The stench invaded her senses and strengthened her thirst. Seras had kept her vampire at bay, even sometimes completely hidden, for years, and finally all the time she'd denied her body of blood came crashing out as an intense lust. But deep down, Seras knew. The girl dhampir knew that no one's blood tasted as swell as Damian's. It was the missing piece to the puddle. She'd drank from quite a few thus far and yet there had been something missing each time. Each time it had been unsatisfying. She had to find the one. Find Damian. As a creature of lust it was all she cared about. To taste the taste of her sweet damian. However, the dhampir had little idea of how to find him. Little did she know that coincidentally the lawyers office was down the street just a few blocks!

Damian glanced at the two men. He straightened his tie. "I can see myself out. I assure you. Is this how you treat all your clients?" He could cancel his check but then the lawyer might talk. "Might I remind you of the confidentiality agreement. Good day to you!" He said as he was escorted off the grounds. He was heavily embarrassed. Why did the lawyer think he would fight him or something silly? Damian wouldn't be fighting anyone in a ten thousand dollar suit. He realized that he had not taken his car but called a taxi cab.
He dialed the cab company as he walked down the block to wait. He would not give them the indignity of them seeing him waiting for a cab.

As Damian stood waiting for his cab, many thoughts more than likely racing through his head, people a short distance away began to scream. Some were yelling and pointing, other simply fled as fast as their legs could carry them. But Seras disregarded every one of them the best she could. Truthfully, whatever humanity was left burried deep within the monster that she was now hurt immensly. It was another grave fear of hers: to be feared, as if to say "sorry, you're not human, didnt you know?"
Clinging to her herself and the wall of the alleyway, Seras crept her way out of the alley. When a polite citizen thought to ask her if she was alright, her fangs certainly made him too flee the scene.
But seras was on a desperate path. She could smell Damian's scent more than ever now but the more she glanced about the less she could see. Her vision grew coated in blood and her hair was matted. Her gait was slow and arduous. Trying desperately to track him, the monster exited the safety of the dark alley.
There, down the street, she knew it was him. Damian was unkowingly waiting for a cab, and the monster had spotted her prey. A strange feeling crept inside her, suggesting she was still partly human, partly sane, but her thirst was unrivaled.
Seras approached Damian as swiftly as her desheveled body would allow. They met eyes and the dhampir somehow stopped dead in her tracks. The girl was shameful to look upon. Blood stained, hurt, but most of all the human inside her prayed her past lover would somehow not notice the blood that had ran down the insides of her thighs. His child was gone. Yet with mostly every fiber of her being, Seras wanted to drink from Damian. She licked her lips unknowingly, her fangs beared she took a slow, pained step towards Damian. The daylight sun nearly burned the blood off her porcelain body. Nobody would believe she was ever part human. It was getting to be too much for her tattered body. She couldnt breath well, and was still losing an alarming amount of blood. The silver bullets lodged in her body were killing her. Despite being a bloodthirsty monster, her thirst for damian was moreso out of lust. She had loved him afterall.
