…And they lived happily ever after.
Yeah, that’s how the story always ends. They get married and ride off into the sunset and have way too many kids who are perfect in every way and never, ever do anything to upset their parents. The kingdom will prosper and there will be peace throughout the land. The Faerie Council will smile down on the mortals, without a trace of condescention, mind, and the barbarian tribes will pay homage and bow down to their rightful leaders and lead lifestyles that everyone approves of. Right?
Riiiigghhhtt…
It’s been twenty-five years since Prince Adsel married Princess Ryla, whom he rescued from the castle that was guarded by a dragon and they began king and queen and had way too many spoiled brats than they could manage. Their marriage has turned sour, (they barely knew each other when they married, after all) their subjects hate them the barbarian tribes are pushing in our their borders, itching for a fight. Their children are an embarassment to them, vampires, werewolves and other vermin are sucking the blood out of their resentful citizens and it’s only a matter of time before the Faerie Council decides to take matters into their own magical hands and introduce democracy into the kingdom. Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, they can’t seem to move the remodeling of the dungeons forward: the chains don’t match the bed of nails and it’s mortifying.
This is the Frythren, a kingdom teetering on the edge of chaos, home to faeries, vampires, werewolves, banshees, merfolk, centaurs, sylphs, experimental creatures, mortals and magic-users. It is a place where passive-agreesive nincompoops inspire shenangians. It’s all fun and games until a werewolf bites your leg off, right? Right? Just…forget it.
Welcome to Frythren, we are an original medieval fantasy RPG website set in a fictional world. We’re not too strict, but we don’t let the game fall into complete disaray either. We are mostly character-driven, although there’s always some sort of seasonal site-wide plot taking place to spice things up. We like to focus on comedy, quality-over-quantity, challenging ourselves to become better writers and most importantly, having fun.
When you join Frythren, you can expect to:
- make new friends...like friends who aren't creepy
- not have to conform to stupid, pointless rules
- write and respond to really awesome posts
- laugh uncontrollably, so innocent passerby's will think you're a lunatic
- always get attention and never be ignored, no matter how big the site is
- be glad you joined
