Taken from Aztec Military.. litterally
Jaguar societies or 'Cuauhcalli':
First in command:Tlacochcalcatl (high general)
Second in command: Tlacateccatl (general)
The ‘body guards’ though the ‘head general’ they’re really picked and in training to be successors incase the ones in command die.One is picked by the Head General and the other is picked by the General, when the respected one dies the one they hand picked succeeds
2 ‘officers’ under them are the :
1: Huitznahuatl
2: Ticocyahuacatl
They not only keep things in line but they also take care of the ritualistic aspects of the group.
After them are 2 elite ranks that must be earned
The Otōntin: they’re fierce and they’re the mercenaries of the group they do the odd jobs that require skill
The Cuachicqueh: they’re like the real body guards but they protect the whole group, they don’t even know the term surrender any more.
----
after them are
Yaoquizqueh: the every man basically they don’t specialize in anything really
Tēlpochyahqueh: they teach the new recruits and keep them under control
Telpochcalli: they’re the new recruits that showed their worth but they’re still unexperienced
and
Tlamemeh: basically the pack mules, you go here if your useless else where in the ranks
all the ranks up to the the Officers can be earned if one can prove themselves and they can climb up the ladder if they work and show their worth or fall down the ladder if they don’t.
the Cuachicqueh, Otōntin and above must and shall be also trained intellectually, they shouldn’t be drop outs in school, they’re the ones that continue school and stuff the every man ranks don’t have to do this but if they want to climb the ranks if they work intellectually the can impress the higher ups.
The Officers watch the others and mention those who may be potential promotions to the generals who will keep an eye on them, if they dub them worthy then the Officers give them the promotion, the same goes with demotions.
Ranks are mostly based on strength, physical, emotional and mental. They must be able to take care of themselves and keep up and respect the higher ups, they usually respect the higher ups since they were once them.
The successors are hand picked by the generals, they act as the leader(s) body guard(s) which doubles as their training to one day lead. If the Generals die the successors replace the immediately. The High General has 2 incase one either turns out to be unworthy or something happens to them, they usually have already picked between the 2 and it’s usually mentioned. The General has to choose carefully for theirs but they may drop them if they happen to be useless and/or pick a new one if something happens to them.
The Jaguars though known for their fierce strength have one big weakness, they’re highly superstitious and rely on there 2 Officers for most important decisions with in the group and some decisions regarding diplomacy, the Leader though having the final word will most likely take their word.
The Officers hand pick their own successors which the scan the group for, they train them behind the scenes, these could be anyone even a random person off the street they coax into joining. The Officers are human.. most of the time...
