♠ WORDS: 429 ♠ TAGS Luke ♠ TEMPLATE by crayola ♠ LYRICS by Shadows Fall Behind her eyelids, the flickering of a light roused her from her gentle nap. Erin lifted her head, eyes squinted against the light had just been turned on. It was almost akin to a sneer as she looked around for the culprit. The teacher had been nice enough to leave the light off after the documentary they had been watching ended, but now some jerk had turned it back on?
She spotted one of the professors standing in the doorway, eyebrow cocked and hand resting on their waste line. “Sorry but we have a class starting in ten minutes. Did you rather be woken up by a light or by a bunch of noisy students?” he asked incredulously, unamused by the look on her face.
Erin rolled her eyes and sat up, a large yawn making her shudder slightly before she started gathering her stuff. “Whatever thanks,” she muttered, getting up out of her chair and hurrying out the door. She lifted a hand to rub the back of her neck, face contorted in slight discomfort. Great I’m going to have a kink in my neck all week. . . . Guess I should have been nicer to the guy who woke up. . . saved me even more pain.
Once she stepped outside, she was taken aback by the sudden blast of cold air. She was used to the warmer interior of the building, and despite the time of the year, the wind was quite chilly. Erin huffed and held her items tightly against her chest, hoping that they would shield her from the unforgiving night air. Erin set off at a quick pace, trying to get to the bus stop as quickly as she could, already on the phone with her parents to tell them that she’d fallen asleep after class and was on her way home.
They didn’t sound happy, but they didn’t sound angry, either.
Her walk was suddenly interrupted by the arrival of a man in front of her and she halted abruptly, stance wide—as if she was going to run the other way. She glanced the man over for a second, barely registering what he had to say, and then rolled her eyes and relaxed ever so slightly.
Great. Was it a vampire? He looked like he could be a vampire.
“You just want one word? Well make it a short word because I have to catch a bus,” she retorted mildly. If there was one thing she didn’t have patience for, it was some cocky blood-sucker who thought she was another giggling Twilight fan who wanted to be bitten. ♠ NOTES: she's got a sharp tongue sometimes. |

♠ WORDS: 353 ♠ TAGS Luke ♠ TEMPLATE by crayola ♠ LYRICS by Shadows Fall Eyes narrowing, Erin stared at the man for a while, glancing over his form with appraising eyes. Now she was getting even more suspicious as he offered her a ride or something in return for listening to him. If she even missed the bus. “What makes me think I’d want to go anywhere with you in the first place?” she muttered more to herself than to him.
He turned and headed for a bench, but Erin remained where she stood for a second or two, her knees locked into place. What in the world would a vampire want with me? I haven’t talked to one of those things. . . like ever and I’m always home before dark. . . god dammit I shouldn’t have fallen asleep, she thought miserably to herself as she finally took a few steps to follow him toward the little picnic area, eyes still narrowed and brow knit with irritation.
“Listen unless you’re going to tell me someone in my family died I think I’ll stand,” she no-so-politely declined, standing a good foot or two away from the little bench, arms held tightly around her, pressing her school things to her chest.
His offer was indeed a strange one, and it only made her even more suspicious. Erin didn’t even understand half of what he was offering her let alone why he was offering it to her. She studied him a little closer, but she couldn’t for the life of her recognize him, which meant that unless he was some creepy stalker vampire they hadn’t ever met before. . . that she didn’t know him.
So what was he playing at. . . ?
Erin remained silent for several more minutes, slowly taking a few steps backwards to get more distance between her and the weird vampire. Her fingers tightened around the binder in her arms. “I am not interested in hanging out with some self-absorbed vampire so go find some other slut to seduce into bed,” she snapped at him indignantly, turning on her heel, her back to him, and striding away toward the bus stop—or rather, storming toward the bus stop. ♠ NOTES: Lol I'mma say it's going to be hard. |

♠ WORDS: 710 ♠ TAGS Luke ♠ TEMPLATE by crayola ♠ LYRICS by Shadows Fall Vampires like that piss me off. Think they can get away with anything because everybody just loooooves them! she thought bitterly to herself. She had half a mind to flip him off as she left, but she didn’t want to piss him off any further. . . . That would be dangerous to her health. No matter how much contempt she held for the vampires, she knew they weren’t to be trifled with.
Erin sighed with relief when the bus pulled up to the stop and she quickened her pace slightly, waving a hand above her head. “I’m coming wait up!” she called, glancing over her shoulder furtively, hoping to get away from the creepy vampire.
The sky above flashed and then a thick bolt of lightning crashed down on the bus. Erin shrieked with surprise and jumped backwards, glancing at the sky. It had been perfectly still mere seconds ago! Nothing in the forecast about a storm or anything. . . . She stared at the bus as it rocked gently, the outside of it fairly unharmed. However, she thought she saw fire on the inside.
She dropped her school things and hurried toward the bus. “Hey! Hey is everyone okay?” she cried. Before she could reach the bus, however, she stopped short when the vampire told her that she should have said yes. Whirling around, her arms fanned out around her and she immediately widened her stance. She innately knew when she was in danger, and this right here was definitely a moment that she knew she was in danger.
Vampire. . . this isn’t a vampire, is it? she thought to herself, all the information she knew about vampires running through her brain as she tried to figure it all out. The answer came as she spun around again at the sound of footsteps. The man was walking toward her, great wings unfurling. Her eyes widened, but she held her ground, hands balling into fists. What was his end game? What in the world could this guy be getting out of scaring people and throwing his weight around? Comfort? Was he compensating, maybe? Bah she’d never understand men.
When he flapped his wings, a great gust of wind hit Erin. However, she had much better balance than she was getting credit for and she merely stumbled slightly, hands raised defensively and her hair whipping about her face. The hat she had been wearing flew off her head and she grit her teeth, glaring at the man.
“What the fuck do yo—” She was cut off by a hiss and explosion in her ear. This time she was unable to keep her footing and she went reeling, falling to the ground. She landed with a painful thud, but the first explosion had knocked her out of range of the second and she lied there, gasping and clutching her chest. There was a terrible ringing in her ear, but that wasn’t about to stop her.
Gritting her teeth, Erin stumbled to her feet, glad that the vamp—the. . . demon had run off somewhere. She knew he wasn’t gone, gone, however, and she quickly ran toward the bus, ignoring everything the creature was saying. The bus had already been hit with the lightning, that meant the wiring was all fried and the next time it got hit it would be conducted through the frame. She would be alright, now. . . if she could just get to it. . . .
Each little bolt that hit the ground made her cover her head with her arms. Luckily they were following her and not aimed directly at her. If he thought she was going to be an opponent to go down easily, he was dead wrong!
The but got closer with each step, and once it was within arm’s reach she practically lunged for it, pressing her palm against the surface and closing her eyes. The bus gave a gentle shudder, and then Erin looked over her shoulder at the area she thought the demon was, and then she huffed and hurried around the side of the bus, trying to take off across the street, maybe lure the man away from her school.
“Beloved? I fucking hate vampires get your facts straight you prick!” ♠ NOTES: You should probably look up how lightning works before you start throwing it around. Just saying.. |

♠ WORDS: 422 ♠ TAGS Luke ♠ TEMPLATE by crayola ♠ LYRICS by Shadows Fall Erin had already pulled away and darted halfway across the street by the time the lightning bold hit the bus again and she spun around as the bus shuddered slightly, legs parted and arms held out from her sides. Knees bent and weight shifted to the balls of her feet she just waited, ready to run, dodge, or whatever she needed to do.
Erin snorted and took a defiant step forward, spitting at the ground. “That’s my name, asshole!” she shot back at him. Who in the world did he think she was? An idiot? She wasn’t going to give this man the time of the night let alone her name!
The bus seemed to notice that the man was on top of it and it lurched forward, tire rims sparking and grinding on the pavement; its tires had been blown out by the last electrical current that had been sent through it. Erin took another step back as the bus shot forward to buck the demon off of its back, and soon enough he took to the air and the bus’s air breaks squealed as it hit the breaks, pulling a U-turn in the middle of the street as best as it could.
Erin didn’t back down or show an ounce of fear as the Demon swooped toward her, despite how she quivered on the inside. Ever muscle in her legs were tense, coiled springs ready to snap back. She tensed, and then threw herself to the ground and to the side before he got close enough—
—and then the bus shot past her, hopefully running the vampire down in the process.
Panting, hair windswept from the speed of the bus as it went past and the proximity, Erin lifted her head and slowly picked herself up to her feet. Uninterested in whether or not the bus had hit him or the demon had managed to get out of the way—or if he did get hit, survive (which was the more likely outcome—Erin turned tail and fled down the middle of the street.
God damn fuck—God damn! Are demons. . . allergic to scripture? Fuck I need to remember that prayer! she thought desperately. Any part of it. . . When she was little her parents went through it every dinner! They’d fallen out of habit, and Erin had always hated it, but it was worth a shot. If she needed it, anyway. Maybe getting hit by a bus would deter him from chasing after her any more. It was a long shot, but here’s to hoping. ♠ NOTES: Lol sorry I don't appreciate power playing. You don't need a lengthy post. . . especially at the cost of breaking a rule. And so your post has been voided anyway because you tried to do too much without giving me a chance to respond. |
