red headed vixen I swear I'd kill you if there wasn't so much paperwork I swear I'd [...] Fuck it. You're going to die now.
Federal Marshall Could the Thing understand what she was saying? For a few moments Isi regretted the fact that no one – not even scientists had tried this. No one ever had any purpose in which to talk to those beasts. “OKAY! OKAY!” Isi screamed as her foot broke a branch under her weight. Hopefully the damned beast would understand what she meant. Or at least get the gist of it. Without being too overwhelmed to eat rip into her flesh and eat it for supper.
The fox began to move on the tree branches and it was making Isi nervous. The red fox was rubbing her ear where Isi had shot it. So maybe the fox did understand, yet, wanted revenge. Unlike the animal Isi didn't understand its movements. She didn't understand what it was trying to convey to her. She took every move it made as a future hostile attempt. "STAY AWAY FROM ME!" Isi screamed in anger.
Why couldn't the thing understand her? As it moved closer she thought that it was going to jump at her. Instead of waiting for it to fly at her, Isi shot at the beast. The shot broke part of the tip of the branch the creature was on. The top hung still attached by a few slivers, swinging in the wind before falling to its doom.
Isi stepped backwards knowing that there was only one ammo in the shotgun. She had more in her pocket but it would take a few seconds to reload and she couldn't waste the time. Isi moved backwards through the forest, shotgun aimed for revenge from the creature.

Shot at! Again! There was no way Réli was standing for this. In fact that was a rather apt description as she was no longer actually standing but rather was falling. The fox twisted and landed with a thump on it's side, cushioned slightly by the grass and leaves. Thanks to quick reflexes, she jumped up and out of the way of the branch following her descent. Screeching like the fox she was, Réli wasted no time before turning on her four heels and barking in the now retreating human's direction.
Oh no you don't. No way.
She knew she couldn't wait and couldn't prepare. As the first light splat of rain hit her nose, the fox zagged to one side and ran after the human. She wiggled under bushes, trying to keep her new enemy from getting a clear shot, and kept up her random zigging and zagging to minimise the chance of a straight shot.
This was infuriating. She'd been having such a nice day, everything had been so pleasant. But no - of course the world does not smile upon the abominable werefox that is she. Every new thought spurred her one to run that little bit faster. She'd been healthy - now she was injured. She'd been eating - her vole was left unfinished. It had been a bright, clear day - now it was dark and cloudy. At least it wasn't so hot now that it had started to rain.
Then a branch at just the right (or was that wrong?) height hit her ear and pain jolted down through her nerves. One paw buckled and she had to roll along with it until she could jump up on her paws again. Rather furious now, Réli fluffed up her fur against the fat raindrops and lowered to her haunches for just a moment before springing at the human woman. She didn't look before she leapt, she just piled all her frustration into that action and jumped. The mouse had sunk the boat and she just had to leap right then.
((Sorry about the wait - my laptop thought it would be funny to connect to the wireless but not actually show me any webpages. It's all cool now though.))

Federal Marshall "AUGGGHHHHHH!" Isi screamed some sort of jumbled up version of an alphabet scream as the fox lunged at her (or fell off the tree). Isi almost stumbled back and landed on her behind but managed to balance herself at the last moment even if the shotgun wasn't aimed at the fox anymore but at a tree. She felt a streak of pain in her right foot as if she might have turned her ankle at an improper position. It wasn't twisted, of this she was certain, yet Isi had not done her morning stretches. She had run out to get groceries for an unnatural craving for food.
A fox surely was fast but Isi felt in her heart that she was faster. She had this deep human instinct that she needed to run to be free and to outwit any danger. Her human instinct told her that to walk backwards was a snails pace and if she ran she could be free and out of danger so much sooner. Never mind of course the gun in her hand. "I hate were-animals. I hate were-animals. I despite were-animals! Oh help me God, Jesus, God, Jesus!" Isi cursed and swore invoking things that might be displeased by her actions.
The fox was running in tactical patterns of zig-zags. Isi was now running forwards instead of slowly backing away. As she lept through the forest, running and leaping like the ex-ballerina and jogger she was she felt she was making a good pace. If only she could remember which direction her car was in. She had only walked straight, true, but to go back in a straight direction seemed impossible.
The clear day in a flash turned dark and cloudy. Perhaps it had happened subtly yet Isi had been so fixated on the were-beast that she only had eyes and attention for it and it alone with only the exception to breathe. "Leave me alone!" Isi yelled out. She was aware that the thing now thought her mouse and itself of cat. As she had turned to look and yell she was not fully prepared for her next long legged leap.
As the hunter prepared for her right foot to make impact with the ground so that the left may then start the leap the right foot made contact with a slippery thick branch hidden under many leaves which offed her balance, the equivalent of running on a dry floor only to find yourself suddenly running on wet floor. Isi thrust herself in some direction aware that she had just done either a front flip or a sideways cartwheel all while holding the gun. The bones in her back crunched as one might snap their fingers as did the bones in and around her thighs, not used to being flipped or cartwheeled without stretches.
Isi was vaguely aware of that the same time she was landing was the same time the creature had pounced at her. The red haired human backed out of the way her pants being torn up by claws in the process, slipping on her bottom and scrambling backwards holding her gun as a baseball bat. Isi backed herself to a tree. "Oh my God" she screamed. Her pants had just been torn to shreds. She hastily rolled up her pant leg to find that the material had been the only thing scratched.
"Stay back. Stay back. STAY BACK." Isi screamed.
OOC - Welcome back. ^.^

Threads of material caught between the fox's claws as the legs under her paws dragged themselves away from her grip. With her head low to the ground her low rumbling growl almost drowned out the panicked cries that the human was making. Almost being the key word here. But some part (her Uncle would blame a maternal instinct, she knew) of her refused to block out the sharp sound, no matter how foriegn it was.
Anger was rampent through her now. She had to do something, had to get back at the human somehow. She recalled a lesson from her Uncle; an expanded version of 'keep your friends close and your enemies closer'. The idea had been to offer a deal or to make it look like you were giving a concession. To make the deal you'd have to get close to the other person. This, of course, put you in a perfect position to attack should they neglect their side of the bargin or if you decide to betray them. Close enough to be civil is close enough to be destructive.
Réli paced in front of the human. A few steps one way, sharp turn, a few steps the other way. She came to a stop at the human's lower side, keeping the human between her and where she could smell the river was coming from. She swiped over her clipped ear again, accidently worrying the healing wound. She ignored the jolt of pain and glared at the human as best a fox could glare. The fox's tail lashed back and forth and the rain fell heavy around them. Slowly - and stretching her paitience to it's limits - she stretched out a paw in front of her. She reached out until it was hovering just near the human's arms. She flexed her claws, reminding everyone that she wasn't just going to tap the human with the pads of her paw.

red headed vixen I swear I'd kill you if there wasn't so much paperwork I swear I'd [...] Fuck it. You're going to die now.
Federal Marshall Isi was extremely freaked out by the fact that her pants had been ravished by a beast. Once scratch was deadly. Isi would much rather have HIV then be a were-fox. She wondered how someone came to be a were-fox in the first place. They were probably hunting much like her though for game and got a bit too close to the animal after having their hunting dogs run off in fright. They had also probably forgot themselves much like her and forgot the gun in their hand was a gun.
Isi watched with hunter’s eyes furious as the fox tried to stalk her like a common gerbil or whatever lived in forests that weren’t human monstrosities. The fox went one way and then took a sharp turn, making Isi’s breath sharp with a mixture of disgust, annoyance and a tiny bit of perhaps fear. It was one thing to go after vampires knowing you could die. But a whole new thing to go after were’s knowing that you could become one of them. The fox came to Isi….
The red fox was glaring at Isi. Isi could see something human in its eyes. It too was filled with rage but no fear. Not anymore. Isi would NOT let herself be taken by something so small and disgusting! The rain was coming down now harder than before. The drops felt sharp and cold against her. In a few moments Isi was instantly soaked with the rain. Her hair was matted down as if she had just come out of the shower. Isi could still see the fox though she wanted to rub the water off of her face yet refused.
The paw was hovering near Isi’s arm. It looked like she was going to shake her hand or scratch her. ‘It’s going to scratch me,’ Isi thought. She used her shotgun like a bat to get the fox paw away from her. “Stay away from me, monster!” Isi yelled at the top of her lungs. She knew no one would save her. So she had to save herself.
OOC – Alright. I hope your computer gets fixed soon!

Réli wasn't sure exactly what she would've done. Just give the woman a deep scratch? Something that would leave a faint scar maybe? Or had she been about to follow through with her internal threat to remove a finger? The decision was taken from her and given to her instincts, however, when the human used it's gun to hit her paw away. With a snarl the fox lunged forward at the weapon and grabbed it. She snapped her jaws together, getting a good grip on the chilled metal. It slipped in her mouth, but luckily it slipped in the human's hands more. The fox tore it out of her opponent's grip and both felt a jolt and heard a crunch as the gun collided with a too-close tree.
Letting go of the metal (and spitting a bit at the left over taste of powder) the fox glanced at the gun. It wasn't a trigger finger, but Réli knew how dependant humans were on their external weapons. With the soft nails that they had and their little teeth that was so close to their gooey eyeballs and soft throats it wasn't too surprising that they made themselves other weapons. Réli sometimes wondered how they survived at all. The gun, she reasoned, was enough of a concession.
Lowered to the ground, the fox began to back up a few steps and fluffed up against the rain. the fall was a bit lighter now, though no less constant. She scowled internally, her nose twitching and her ears flattening further, as the cause of the sudden change of weather suddenly clicked. Right, rain, as in the one thing she had an affinity for. That coupled with her getting so (rightfully) angry meant that the rain must be her fault. why could she not have had the normal luna affinty like everyone else?
((If this it too much of a power-mod just say the word and I'll edit.))

red headed vixen I swear I'd kill you if there wasn't so much paperwork I swear I'd [...] Fuck it. You're going to die now.
Federal Marshall The fox lunged for and grabbed a good hold of Isi’s gun. It was a struggle between the two. Isi was determined to not let the gun go. It was extremely dangerous being so close to the fox’s jaws but Isi was determined to keep possession of her gun. A bullet discharged from the gun shooting not any of the two but a large tree nearby. The tree gained a very large impact from the shot. Against Isi’s wishes and much to her surprise the gun was taken from her.
If it had not been raining or if Isi had on gloves the gun would not have been pried from her cold live hands. She watched as the gun collided with the top of a tree, landing a good distance away. Isi was drenched to the bone and could not tell that the rain was starting to slow down and lighten up. Instead she pulled out her first gun. She had only fired three rounds and had plenty more. The only problem was that these bullets were made for vampires, they didn’t have that exploding power the shotgun did.
“Don’t even think about it.” Her fingers were cold and she felt so numb but she couldn’t let that stop her from pulling the trigger. They were back to square one again but Isi was minus a shotgun and the fox was minus a tip of an ear. “Go on, shoo. Shoo!” Isi yelled, her voice fierce. Though there was nothing more she would enjoy then killing the fox she had too much to lose. “Damn you stupid beast. Do you know what a draw is? A DRAW!” she screamed hoping that the louder she said it the more the fox could understand it. This was much harder than a raid in Chinatown.
OOC – It's fine. ^^

The fox's muscle tensed under her fur when the woman drew a second gun. But under the loud yelling she could practically taste the panic. The cold rain wasn't the only thing causing her opponent ot shiver. Staring down the barrel of the new gun, Réli tried to listen to the tone bhind the yelling. She couldn't recognise most of the sounds with fox ears, though "Shoo!" was a painfully recognisable word. Shoo, shoo - you're strange and weird. Shoo, shoo - you're not like us. Shoo, shoo - we're a pack not a skulk. The rain came at a hard angle for a moment before she caught herself and righted it.
But even through the hurt of the word, she finally got what the human must be trying to say. They were equal now, so now the fox could leave. Réli let her jaw sag open and pant for a moment while drinking in the wet smells of the forest around her. Maybe there was still time to find a little spot to curl up in and rest. Maybe there'd be a little rodent dumb enough to brave the rain. maybe she could get a fish (though she didn't trust the look of that river). Maybe the day could still be salvaged. At least it was raining now.
So the fox continued to back off, content with the damgae she'd exchanged. She gave little spitting motions every few steps, warning the human to stay back. Then, once she was a long leap away from the human, she half-jumped half-spun around and briskly slunk off into the undergrowth. She kept her ears pricked backwards, staying cautious like she was taught. But there was no reason to think the human would follow and Réli had never been great at the caution lessons. Soon enough her senses turned to the wide forest before her. There was still some daytime before night fell and she'd take what she could get.
((End soon? Not trying to force anything, just feels like it.))

red headed vixen I swear I'd kill you if there wasn't so much paperwork I swear I'd [...] Fuck it. You're going to die now.
Federal Marshall Isi stayed with her back to the tree. Her backside on the ground under branches and leaves making it quite an uncomfortable seat. She could feel the bark of the trees pressing against her. She could see the little bugs crawling on the ground. Her gun was aimed high and true. The fox finally understood her word ‘shoo’. It had backed off but was doing it slowly. It didn’t dare turn its back on Isi – something Isi agreed with. She strangely might have been mad if the animal gave its back so easily.
Every few steps or inches the were-fox moved away and hissed and spat. It was some type of warning. Isi knew that – at least. She hadn’t understood anything the fox meant before but she knew what it meant now. It was a common language – the threat of violence and the threat to return and to harm. Isi just stayed in her uncomfortable seat in an uncomfortable position while her hands and fingers were dying at her to just slowly lower the gun and rest. She kept the gun up and watched the fox make its retreat.
Finally Isi could no more see the fox then perhaps the fox could see Isi. The hunter thought of her shotgun. She needed it. But she could get it tomorrow. She might toss and turn all night until it was back in her possession. It was unregistered and covered in her fingerprints! Both things were not very good considering that she was a Federal Marshal. Isi would get her shotgun tomorrow and if some damned nosy pesky joe-goody-too-shoes found it well then that nosy joe-goody-too-shoes would most certainly have to die.
Isi wasn’t worried however. The woods didn’t look like they had large game so there would be no hunters. Now Isi needed to get back to her car before she got a ticket for being pulled over on the side of the road, or worse, if someone called a tow truck. “I hate nosy goody too shoes.” She muttered under her breath. The fox was gone so it couldn’t have heard her, nor could it have known what she meant by her words.
Finally sure that the fox was gone and they had an ‘understanding’ Isi picked herself up. She took one last look at the vague direction the fox had gone and then went the opposite way. Isi was drenched and soaked to the T. Water slid down her face, down her hands and neck. Her fingers felt like they were frozen to the bone but she refused to put away her gun. She jogged at a high rate and saw through the clearing to her car. It didn’t appear to have any tickets. Isi unlocked it and then ran into the car.
“Well meet again fox, we’ll meet again.” Isi couldn’t let that fox live. Its death served no purpose except to save her prefect kill score. Isi had let three vampires live and now one were-fox. If Isi had her way all four would die. She had a 99.96% kill rate now. It was pissing her off.
OOC - I guess that's it. Maybe they can meet later as humans? Though I wish Isi wouldn't find her out as a human/fox, her perfect kill rate is going down as more things slip through and around her bullets. *sad face*

The red fox let the woodland scents catch her once more. The content rain spread the smells and blurred it all together nicely. Most prey-scents were washed away, but she didn't mind. The let the low leave stroke her spine and relished in the feel of water in her fur. There was no sound of any pursuers, so Réli guessed the human must've understood. She supposed that they must've realised she was no ordinary fox and been scared off. Which was good - that had been her plan anyway. The fox gave the woods an open jawed grin and she sunk in the tastes and smells. Today wasn't so bad. She'd have a scar to bring home but she did things right. Her Uncle might even be proud of what she did. She casually mused whether he would've attacked the human or fled when she was too stubborn to. The thought was nothing much, though, and the soft wind soon blew it out of her mind. Squinting ahead, the sun was trying to reach it's rays through the clouds and succeeding somewhat due to it's low angle. The trees made music, as if each leaf was a drum or cymbal, as the rain fell through them. Within it all, a fox a size too large slinked in the undergrowth, enjoying the day. Fin ((Computer+Study troubles. All fixed now I'm always up for another thread. And don't worry about the finding out, the Kains - especially in this 'verse - have a bit of a pack rule about not telling others of their nature. I mean, Réli accidentally hints sometimes, but the rule stands.))
