. the streets were very busy for this time of night. skies clear and dark, the moon shined brighter than any of the street lamps could offer. it was a glorious thing actually because the moon was almost full. cars cruised by and people went on with their lives unaware of what wonders would rise in the next couple of days. a female settled in a chair on the riverwalk. her katana clattered on the metal table and the poor waiter paled. flashing him a grin the female waved him off with a simple order for a cup of tea. icy blue orbs seemed to scan the streets, almost glowing with the itch that seemed to build under her skin. one of the downsides of leaving malcolm so soon was that she lacked intel on full moons. sighing softly, the female looked out over the water.
. things were rather noisy for both her radar and senses, and she wasn't too sure how she liked it. her radar practically buzzed with humans and the occasional vampire. to her surprise she found a couple of werewolves as well, but she doubted they would mind a girl coming up to them and calling them out on it. the waiter set down her cup of tea and almost spilled it on her lap in the process. with a stern look, he was gone in a second and she picked up her cup. a wave of relaxation seemed to wash of her. everything seemed to quite down a bit ad with a smile she sipped at her tea. nothing like a good cup to set you at ease before a good kill. it had been about a week since she had been turned and everything seemed to be all healed and functional. her radar was something she was still getting used too because of the change. everything was so much more vivid and clear. it was like she had been in a frosted glass ball her whole life.
. the only problem she seemed to have was hiding it from everyone. no one at work seemed to notice the difference but it was like walking on egg shells every time she stepped foot in there. finishing off her tea, the female set the cup down and closed her eyes. even with her eyes closed it was as if she could still see all the people walking by. there was the soft click of a safety and the snap of a gun firing. motions quicker than she was used too, the female dropped to the ground and the bullet shot into the wall behind her. icy eyes flashing open, she grinned grabbing her katana and throwing her money on the table. the vampire with the gun looked at her in terror before turning the other direction. looks like her mark showed up just at the right time. grinning, she jumped over the little fence that separated cafe from street.
. not paying any attention to where she was going, the female practically knocked over another werewolf. "I'm so sorry!" she called over her shoulder as she chased down the vampire. that had been another werewolf? no way! how cool! shaking her head, she brought her focus back to the present. this vampire needed to be taken down. warrant in her pocket, the female jumped again katana in hand and sliced the vampire into noting. people screamed and shouted but once she regained her balance the female pulled out her badge. "it's all right everyone I'm a federal marshal. he was charged with murder and rape." the female tried to explain and when the people realized what she said was true they went about their business. giving a weak grin, the female sat down on a bench. this stuff was hard to do. it took a lot of effort to keep from running full out after the vampire. she wished malcolm had stuck around for a while longer. Well it was easy to see that his life was booring inbetween jobs. Waving to thte young woman who purchased the flowers he had just delivered he began to walk his way back down the street. The floral store had been Isobel's idea and he liked having a side job. But sometimes he just felt so bored delivering flowers or moving huge bouquets around. Izzy looked at it more as a hobby that payed. Jason's hobby didn't pay as much unless he cooked for other people. Which was rare seeing as they didn't have many friends, That and Jason wasn't very social anymore.
With that little bit of work out of the way Jason now made his way back to the flower shop to close up. Him and the kid were going to have to close without Izzy tonight as she was off on an important " business meeting" Jason chuckled to himself as he thought of how oblivious that kid could be. Poor guy, It wasn't his fault they were good at hiding. But Jason would have noticed if his bosses were constantly leaving without warning. He didn't think the kid would catch on. Especially considering how much they payed him to keep shop while they were away on" business" He chuckled once more at the thought and looked to the sky. The moon would be full soon.
It was getting close and his beast stirred in anxious anticipation with each passing moment. If there was one thing he would never be used to it was the build up to the moon. He had more energy and was so very restless in the days just before the full moon. The day of being the worst. He tried his best not to do missions on the day of a full moon. He wasn't nearly in good enough control of himself and he didn't trust himself not to slip up. If he got killed and then shifted not only would he fail the contract but the contract would be making money off his corpse. And that just wasn't going to do for anything.
His staring at the moon was disrupted when he was sudenly ran into by a woman. Two things caught him as strange about her. She had a Katana, and she was a werewolf. Her scent still felt human but she was definitely a werewolf like him. Perhaps she didn't even know it herself. Or she did and it was just before her first full moon. That was more then likely it. Hearing her apologize to him as she bolted after someone he was even more intrigued. With nothing really left to do for the rest of the night he decided it might be fun to follow her and see just what she was up to. With a grin he turned and ran after her.
He watched in surprise as she drew her katana and actually cut down the person she was after. Which seemed to be a vampire as she revealed to the crowd of onlookers that just thought they witnessed murder. She was a federal martial too. This was getting better by the minuet. If she didn't know what she was she could kill him without so much as a second glance and get reward for it. But maybe she would be sympathetic. If she was as new as he figured she was from her smell she may need some help figuring things out. Watching the crowd dissipate and her sit on a bench he decided he was too curious to ignore it and went to her.
Sitting on the bench next to her he leaned back and looked up to the sky once more. He sat for a moment before smiling. He needed to be subtle about how he asked because if they both got found out there would be a riot and they would both wind up in trouble. Finally deciding on how he spoke." You know the moon sure is beautiful this close to being full. A lot of folks don't really take the time to appreciate something like that. I bet you don't have much time to do you Miss Federal Marshal?" He asked her. She seemed a little flustered when he first arrived at the bench. He figured she could use some conversation. But he was from New Orleans after all. A little friendly conversation did wonders even if she didn't get what he was referencing
