If you are curious as to how you should address me, Dominic, Nic, Whitaker, Nimir-Raj, or Sir are approved options. Other nicknames are fine as long as I don’t find them offensive or derogatory. Las— What’s that? Yes, I am in fact the Nimir-Raj of the Sa Belle Mort Pard. I have held the position for eleven years now. That puts me at forty years of age with only the last thirteen as a shifter. Oh… Is that important? Okay. I own a bookstore and a small coffee shop in downtown New Orleans. Have a nice day. His fascination began with his grandmother who was an accomplished player. In the evenings after all her work was finished, she would sit down and play for everyone. His favorite song was ‘Clair de Lune‘ by Debussy. While his brothers were obsessed with guitars and cars, Dominic could often be found next door at his grandmother’s home, fingering the keys and making up little tunes. Playing the piano calms him down. It is also one of the most surefire ways to get Nic to fall asleep much to the amusement of his family. ○ HOLIDAYS - Yes, holidays. Dominic positively loves holidays. The decorating, the food, and the family traditions that go along with them, everything. Because he’s cut off all contact with his family, Dominic does not get to partake in the traditions that have been with the Whitaker clan for generations. To compensate, Nic tends to go a little crazy with decorations. During Christmastime, his loft looks like some interior decorator went crazy. A massive tree stands in one corner with a lot of handmade ornaments and pictures of his family. Music appropriate for the season, usually classical or instrumental is constantly playing in the background when he’s home. ○ FAMILY - The value of family has been drilled into Dominic’s head from the day he was born. There is absolutely nothing more important than family. Because Nic is not in contact with his biological family (for their own safety or so he says), the Sa Belle Mort (use google translate for pronunciation) Pard is his family now. No matter what rank, every leopard under his leadership is cared for whether financially, physically, etc. Dominic would even lay down his life if it meant the survival and prosperity of the pard. If you hurt one of them, Nic will personally see to it that you pay. ○ FIREWORKS - What pretty colors~ So shiny and bright and— Hold up. I know what you’re thinking. Dominic sounds like he is seriously out of it right? Well, he isn’t. But he has a thing for fireworks. The smell of powder and the crazy displays are synonymous with a Whitaker family tradition. Weddings, anniversaries, and babies are always celebrated with a potluck and fireworks after the food and the Whitaker clan knew how to throw a party. Another reason is that Dominic has a dash of pyromaniac in him. He loves setting things on fire and figuring out how to make something go boom. Not just a little boom either, but a massive “OMG” BOOM! dislikes ○ CHANGE - Specifically changes that disrupt his day to day life like suddenly shifting into a leopard during a full moon. Let me tell ya, he was not too pleased with that little development. Now, he knows change is inevitable and Dominic will not try to avoid it, but he has a serious problem when faced with situations that dramatically alter his life and there is nothing he can do about it. The most prominent example of this is his lycanthropy. Dominic did not ask to be turned into a monster that could be killed on sight after risking his life for his country. Such changes make him restless and much pricklier. ○ SMOKERS - His grandfather died from lung cancer brought on by decades of smoking cigarettes. The old man’s death cut the Whitaker clan off at the knees and only the younger children were the ones to escape the event unscathed. Dominic’s grandmother was never the same after her husband died and neither was his own father. The smoke used to be a comforting smell that he associated with the compassionate man that had been Gregory Whitaker, but he grew to hate it after his grandfather died and now, the smoke aggravates his sense of smell which is now much stronger thanks to an illegal dose of furball. His fellow Seals never liked it when he hid their smokes either. ○ MUSHROOMS - Devil’s bane. That is what that fungus is. Not an edible morsel but evil poison concocted by parents in order to torture their children. Dominic thinks anyone who would pay upwards of a thousand dollars for a fucking mushroom has lost his mind. Lost it and will never get it back. When he was a child, Nic boycotted meatloaf for a year because he found out his grandmother’s recipe called for mushrooms. One time, his brothers played on April Fool’s trick on him by insisting that the family was going on a mushroom dominated diet. Dominic had a conniption when he realized what the date was. He chased after the pair with a baseball bat... no mushrooms for him. ○ SHOPPING - More like ‘who can spend the most time in a store buying useless shit.’ It is not a game that Dominic enjoys. He would rather get in and then out as soon as good traits ○ Dependable ○ True cowboy gentlemen ○ Frugal ○ Adaptable bad traits ○ Dangerous (leopard) seal ○ Possessive ○ Holds grudges ○ Sudoku addict skills ○ Navy Seal ○ Force transformation ○ Smooth & Fast shifting. Does not need to rest. ○ Partial shapeshifting fears ○ Being ousted from his very comfortable closet ○ Dying. He really does not want to be put down like a rabid dog. ○ The "Nimir-Ra" legend his mentor told him about. Would like to find a girl on his own even if it is unlikely to happen. ○ Vampires. Scary ****ers that he wants far away from him. history Dominic Eamon Whitaker was born at Lander Regional Hospital on the twenty-third of July in the year of 1981. He was the third son of Dr. Aaron Whitaker and his wife Nora, preceded by Seth, five, and Levi, two, with an older sister named Beth, age nine. His father was the local veterinarian and his mother stayed home to care for her growing brood. There was certainly no lack of trouble and mischief in the Whitaker house with three rambunctious boys on the prowl and only one sister to tattle on them not that Beth did much tattling. She’d much rather read her books than involve herself with the on goings of “buttheads like her brothers.” Even before Dominic could walk, he was being dragged into various problems created by his brothers from being turned into a baby mummy to learning the fine art of mud-throwing. His mother somehow managed to keep the house from toppling over even when she was pregnant with her second daughter only three years after Dominic had come onto the scene. Even with five brother s and sisters also vying for his parents’ affections, Dominic was a well-adjusted kid. There were certainly some difficulties such as a small spelling problem, but otherwise, his childhood was wonderful. His grandparents lived immediately next door and were very happy to have their home invaded by their precious grandchildren. After graduating college with a degree in business, Dominic enlisted in the Navy and went on to have a successful career as a Seal; however, after only five years of service, his entire life changed. During leave, Nic had elected to spend some time camping on his own, but that choice put him face-to-face with an extremely pissed wereleopard only a few days before the full moon. That night is as blank as a new slate in Dominic’s mind. He cannot recall what really happened or the week following. His first clear memory is waking up to find himself surrounded by the pard that his attacker belonged to. Thus was Dominic’s introduction to the world of the shape-shifters. During that first year, Dominic lived in the land of denial, but reality is a bitch and he finally had to accept that he had been permanently altered against his will. This lead to the choice of Nic cutting ties with his biological family (though it was agony to do so) and embracing the pard as his new family. Dominic remained with the group long enough to learn the ropes and proper etiquette of wereleopard culture before leaving to find a home for himself. This short journey found him in New Orleans where a run-in with a vexing Lion passant led to Dominic forcefully taking control of the Sa Belle Mort Pard. Over the next eleven years and under his leadership, the pard has done well. They even own a nice little bookshop called the The Cozy Knook that also has a small coffee shop attached.[/style] HI! My name is Shire. Please don’t worry about the similarities between Joshua Hawthorne and Dominic Whitaker. They are basically the same person but with a few tweaks. I am eighteen years old and I live in the Pacific Timezone. |
