To be accurate, it had no effect at all, but he hadn't really expected any different than that. Her bias was so deeply rooted into her that nothing could shake it loose. His posture straightened, and his eyes lost the anger, all of the pain leaving his expression. It hadn't really hurt, anyway. It had just been an easy thing to fix. With a casual movement, he brushed the hair out of his eyes, his hand wiping away the worst of the blood. in the dark, no one could tell that it was blood that discolored his face anyway.
He followed her to the vacant lot in silence, back straight and stiff. Only one eyebrow raised as the cuffs came off, and his hand reached to his wrist, rubbing the spot where the metal had dug into the skin. There was a lot to be realized here. For one, she was actually letting him go, something which even he had been beginning to doubt. His dark eyes rested on her curiously for a second, then he inclined his head slightly, still with a troubled gaze. Though at her final word, he couldn't help but laugh, the sound ringing out through the empty lot. "Please, officer. We both know that you don't mean that. You don't have to try for my sake." Laughter colored his voice, and humor shone in his dark eyes.
He looked off into the dark lot, then back at the woman. For some reason, he couldn't help but open his mouth one more time. "Tell you what. If you ever decide that you need information on some vampires worth killing, give me a call..." He handed her a card, which had been in the pocket of his jeans, and was, as such, untouched by blood. He also used his clean hand to do it, making sure that the red liquid never got near her. "It's not my main number, nor my cell, but it is a number that is frequently checked. You need a name and a reason, you give me a call. I'm sure you get mad often enough that you don't have enough contracts to go around." He stepped back into the shadow, visible as a silhouette against the darkness. "Use me if you want, but I assure you, we will not see each other again. I'll be careful to make sure of that."

red headed vixen I swear I'd kill you if there wasn't so much paperwork I swear I'd [...] Fuck it. You're going to die now.
Federal Marshall Isi looked closely at the card. She realized that it was blood free and he had used his hand that was not covered in blood. She took the card between her two fingers - she would need to wash her hands with disinfectant. The same disinfectant a doctor would use. It was undoubtedly very disgusting. "Do you always carry cards on you with numbers that aren't your main number and aren't your cell?" she asked. Isi was certain that he did have cards on him that were at least his cell, they were probably in a different pocket. Which Isi hadn't frisked him, and she had no intention of doing so. If she touched a vampire and frisked him, she herself, would feel very raped.
Isi had business cards on her that led to a pre-paid cell. She also had professional business cards that led to her work cell. But she had no intention of giving the vampire one of her cards. "You sound as if you don't like me," she laughed. "But that's okay." It was implied that she knew the feeling was mutual. "But before you go," she said noting how he was slipping into the shadows. "Tell me something. Who is the Master of the City?" she asked. Isi just threw out the words, she did not know if they made any sense. Master of the City? It sounded so hilarious. But those were the rumors she had begun to hear. Was it possible that there was a vampire who claimed that he was Master of the City? Isi wished she could see Mikael's face.

He had thought she would look at it with disgust and rip it in half, or burn it, or something. But she had actually taken it. Admittedly, she had taken it in a manner that suggested she would rather touch a leper, but it still hung between her fingers. He had cards of other sorts, but the card she held was his business card, so to speak. It was the only truly secure line he had, and the only people that knew the number were people that had the number. As to how he'd obtained it in the first place, that was his little secret. Suffice it to say that he knew certain people in certain places. The card itself was bland and basic. It simply said 'information', followed by the number. No name or anything else. The people who had the card should already have known his name. Of course, it didn't matter that he didn't know her name. She was a vampire hunter with red hair, and that was rare enough that he could likely find the necessary information if he needed it. So he shrugged. "Only a few. I rarely get a chance to give them out." For a moment, a grin flashed, pale in the dark.
He laughed at her comment, a dark laugh, rich in its density, rolling through the empty lot. "Like you? My dear officer, after the night that you've presented me with, you're lucky if I don't hate you. I've never met someone who went so far out of their way to make me feel unwelcome, but that's besides the point. This encounter is over now." He had turned to leave, but her voice caught him and turned him back, a black shape in the night. When he stepped back into the light, the blood was gone from his face. Of course, had one bothered to look, there was a heavily stained cloth tucked into his back pocket. A dark look shone in his eyes as he regarded her anew. Where had she heard something like that? He didn't think that humans knew of the Master of the City.
When it came to said Master, Mik was one of the vampires that hadn't sworn fealty to the man, but neither was he foolish enough to resist him. One on one, any vampire could take on another, if certain conditions were on their side. But the Master had the majority of the vampires in New Orleans standing behind him, and that was a very disquieting notion for anyone who considered himself his enemy. Mik was fortunate enough to consider himself ambivalent. Neutral on all accounts. Information, after all, was a universal commodity.
His voice, when it finally came, was quiet, but carried a serious tone for once. "Now...I wonder how you would know about something like that..." He eyed her again, dark eyes narrowing, then shrugged. "You really are not one to let an opportunity slide, officer. As for that matter, you have asked a great deal, but I suppose I did offer. I can tell you two things. One, I can indeed acknowledge that there is a Master of the City. Sometimes, after all, rumor does have a basis in fact." He sighed, and bent down, so that his face was level with hers. "Two, and this is something I probably shouldn't tell you, His name is Xavier. Whether that is his real name, or one he took on when he rose to power, I cannot say. I am not deep enough in his good graces that I know such information." He rose, already stepping back into the darkness, where his voice emanated once more. "I am not truly the person to ask of such matters. Unlike many, I have not ingratiated myself with the man by pledging to his side. I am not his enemy, but I am also not his friend..."

Federal Marshall "You'll have to prove that I went out of my way to hate you if you want to press charges against me." Isi responded like any twisted cop would. They both knew that no one would press charges and that charges were rarely looked at. If you lived to press charges you should be lucky you were alive in the first place! And then once you pressed charges well, then you became on the 'radar' of everyone.
His reply of 'Now I wonder how you know something like that?' said it all. Of course Isi could have said, 'Have you heard of Master of the City' but wording it as 'Who is the Master of the City' made her sound like she knew something. And if it didn't exist, well then, what was another crazy vampire hating human in the world? So this Master did exist, then. Who was It? Xavier. She repeated that name in her mind so she would not forget it. Now that she knew there was big fish to find, Isi would find them. What would happen if you chopped off the head of the big vampire fish? Isi wanted to find out.
For some reason Isi did not believe that this vampire was lying to her. She believed that he was being truthful. But the next few vampires she had executed would confirm or deny his statements. Dead vampires talked, especially when they were about to get executed. One had thought that if he squealed about the master of the city he would get to live, after all, Isi, a Federal Marshall had promised this. But Isi had lied. Never trust a cop. "Thanks for the information." Isi said. She wondered if he would get in trouble. He told an Executioner the Master of the City's name when no executioner knew that a Master of the City actually existed!
