I was alone in the dark and the fear was my truth I feel wrong I'm so human and flawed I'll break down even though I'm still strong And time...will make fools of us all Build us up and then laughs when we fall You...pull me through When I'm alone in the dark and the fear is my truth
[atrb=border,0,true] | Did people suddenly believe in magic when the vampires came out of hiding? Emilia was rather surprised with the amount of people trying to come through Jackson Square as she sat reading a book in her lap. Of course, not very many people would understand the words on the page, but it wasn't for their eyes anyways. They would see it as any normal old book if someone was leaning over her shoulder and those who could read the language saw it as it was.
Emilia was having quite a ball watching people come to and fro disappointed that they couldn't see anything exciting from the "magicians" that came around. What a bunch of frauds. Of course, Emilia wouldn't expose herself to such nonsense, it was the pet peeve of being watched that stopped her in her tracks. Having someone watching while performing a spell was distracting enough. If she was in trace, then maybe it was fine because she wouldn't see the person or notice they were there, but before doing anything, it distracts her from what she's trying to do.
The book in her lap was a spell book, only to help herself get some peace around the park. It was irritating that so many people were here at sunset instead of going to find one of the many bars that vampires were most likely located at. Wasn't that what humans were interested in seeing down here? The vampires? She seemed curious about them herself, but she had been here for ten years that it didn't bother her about meeting one. She would find her time to meet one in due time. What was the hurry for her?
The spell book caught her attention as she looked through it once more and found something that could diminish the noise in the park. At least to make the idiot tourists to go away. Lack of noise may make them uncomfortable and head back to their hotels to get away for the night, but then again, it was a hard choice to make considering so many of them were here year round. She couldn't possibly understand why they couldn't flock to some other city to view the vampires and others that came roaming around. Emilia was just annoyed she couldn't have her peace and quiet.

[atrb=border,0,true] | The spellbook had kept her attention to the book until she lost concentration to due to someone tripping over her feet. How does that happen? She didn't even have them that far out unless someone was really trying to trip themselves? "my sincerest apologies madam. I seemed to be lost in thought and didn't realize where I was walking." Looking at the man, she felt an uneasy feeling about this man. He wasn't human. And that was what worried her.
"might I repay you with a cup of coffee?" coffee? She didn't drink coffee. Why would anyone want to offer coffee to her? She may have been from the South, but the thought of taking coffee with a stranger who had a strange sense about them was not a way to go. "I'm sorry. I really need to get going. I just realized that I have to go to a funeral and I'm already late for it."
Lies, but it would surely pull a clever cover for her as she made her escape out of the park. It seemed silly not to do much, but getting coffee with someone seemed rather silly to her. Especially when you mistakenly trip over their feet. How he managed to do that, she didn't quite understand her. Her feet were closer to the bench than what she thought. Maybe he tripped over his own two feet? Was that what he even had? Two feet or were there more hidden under his cover?
Picking up her spellbook, she started to walk toward the fountain in hopes of the screaming children in blocking his path from following her to find she had lied to him about where she was going or why she needed to leave. This was just appearing all to weird for her. What kind of creature was he? Something about him just didn't seem right to her. Was is it something she hadn't encountered before? There were plenty of things she had encountered and used spells to shield herself from them, but this one seemed different. Really different.
