It was New Years now, here in Chicago and everyone was celebrating, but guess who really didn't give a fuck? Aleister. Whoopie, another near year, and another year it was spent by himself pretty much, and in a bar. He was having a vodka and pineapple famously called "The Hairy Buffalo" or at least that's what someone had told him once. He drank heavily alone, he was depressed this New Years, because he was going to go home into an empty bed, and drink himself to sleep like usual.
The question was, why the fuck was he at a vampire bar? Because he was a paranormal entity and there wasn't many humans who were Wizards around his part at least tat he didn't know about so he came here to the vampire bar to be with people of his own kind. The super natural part, maybe he even would go home with a hottie so he wouldn't have to go home to a empty and cold bed.
To accommodate the New Year he was wearing nicer clothes. Black shoes, black dress pants, and a white tucked in shirt along with a black over coat, and a tie that was of course undone as of now. Looking around the bar he didn't really spot anyone of interest, so he pushed the glass back again. Letting the cold liquid warm his body. Looked like another lonely night even with the many people walking and drinking about.

Nika walked into the building away from her apartment, it'd seemed the neighbours above had taken the celebrations to a whole knew level and it'd sounded and felt like a rave. The countdown hadn't even started and already they were rowdy. It was the better choice to get out, though she'd known the people she really didn't like them enough to join in.
She'd only glanced at the front sign quickly, from what she'd heard this is where most of the supernatural gathered at night but it was also a bar, a bar she didn't know the regulars in. She'd don'd a simple t-shirt and jeans and carried the leather jacket over her shoulder having long taken it off due to the heat at this time of year, she was used to way below freezing at the beginning of the year so this counted as summer. the t-shirt showed of some of her prized marks on her arm one being her personal favorite a simple cyrillic phrase that when translated meant 'Fuck You' the rings that blackened her fingers were revealed to the public as always but the one's on her arms were only revealed via a t-shirt to the everyday crowd which in this city was a lot. Little did they know she had more blackened marks else where, marks she'd proudly earned well before acquiring the jaguar for it's heightened abilities though most wouldn't be excited to know how to earn them.
She'd taken a seat ignoring jut about everyone for now and ordered a glass of vodka, the strong stuff.

Aleister was still sitting in his same spot, fourth of the way to getting smashed off his ass. Dam him and his high tolerance to alcohol! He almost wanted to call it a curse, it usually took three fourths of a bottle of vodka before he finally got drunk. So, being the cocky sun-of-a-bitch he was right now, he asked the bartender for an entire bottle of pineapple vodka. The mixed drink was put down on the bar, ice cold and freshly made. Mhm, it was going to be one hell of a night. A few seats down a lovely damsel sat herself down and he only looked at her from the corner of his eye. Give her to much attention and he'd lose her for sure.
Of course with his wonderful hearing he heard her order a vodka, and he spoke over person beside him to her hoping to gain her attention.
"Hey, how about you forget the straight stuff tonight and try a little bit of this? I got a whole bottle, so help yourself."
Without even touching the bottle, and for all to see of course the cap popped off with only a little nudge of magical force. As he refilled his own glass and kept it there waiting and wondering to see if she would grab the bottle for herself, and he didn't really care one way or the other if she did or didn't. If she did, well then he'd have less vodka, and if she didn't? Well, more vodka for him then!
"Oh, excuse my rudeness.. My name is Aleister Vicious. People know me around these parts as Monarch.. the Wizard."
He flashed a brief smile when he said this and took another large gulp of his drink.

She heard a voice beside her suddenly after the second drink kindly burned it's way down. She turned to find a bottle in her face and the cap snapped off in thin air. She took it to read the label "pineapple vodka?" She went looking towards where the voice came from to see a man a bit older than she was. "she took another look at the label sneaking a look at the alcohol content"if you had the stuff I prefer you wouldn't need a whole bottle but it's vodka flavoured just to tell you" She went casually before taking a healthy swig from it. The sweetness combined with the burn, the sweet burn she'd dub this one.
She glanced over again, introductions chimed, charmed more like. This guy was a wizard? She shrugged it off slightly but not really, she figured this could be a good contact to have. "The name's Nika Kipiryanov, a jaguar when ever the moon show's it's self completely"

After the bottle made contact with the table again he opened up his hand and it slid quickly across the counter top until it came in contact with his hand and he closed his hand around it. Taking a large swig from it himself. He rolled her name around in his thoughts and he thought it was a familiar name. Nika Kipiryanov, a were jaguar. The name sounded really familiar and he couldn't remember if he was supposed to be cautious to the name or respect it. Guess he would take the safe route and be cautious.
"Nika.. A were-jaguar huh? I think I've heard of you. I don't recall though, I come in contact with so many paranormals in my day-to-day life..."
He didn't want to sound like he was disrespecting her, and hopefully she didn't intend to get a more positive response out of him. Of course his name didn't get much of a response out of her either. Monarch the Wizard, he who can find those not by normal needs and he who could even bring back the dead by very unconventional needs. Although now he wasn't sure what he was supposed to say, he was tongue tied at the moment lost in his thoughts.
"I'm not partial to any drink, I enjoy everything of any alcoholic content. Although I have to say almost any kind of beer and moonshine are the ones I pry dislike the most. I prefer something with more flavor and a harder... kick..."
He went on to say, finally finding the words as he knocked back the bottle again.

She'd still been holding the bottle till it was sucked out of her grip, she thought this bottle was a peace offering at the least but she said nothing to it and returned to her own drink. That's when the man spoke up again, he knew who she was, the supernatural side was easy but it was the question of what else this person knew. She'd only been in this city for a year and the first year she didn't have a job due to age limit she being 21, 22 in june not to mention she wasn't the type to be hanging around people aside from work Though judging by his current hobby there was only one way to have heard of her was to be a regular at the bar.
"you go to the Circle Bar at all recently?" She went to answer his suspicion of the neet up. "if you had I'm the bar maid week days at night. the regulars know my name and the other weres sometimes spread what I am and curious folk get information from them"
She pushed the empty glass aside and ordered another of the straight up stuff, then ordered another and passed that down to the wizard.
"then you may get a kick out of this, 100 proof straight up though if you're not used to it you may not walk afterwards"

His eyes looked up above the bottles of alcohol. As he was trying to remember if he had saw her at that bar, but he could barely remember the many bars he had been to over the months. Paranormal bars, regular bars, all kinds of bars he had passed through in his years. He shook his head once for no but in all reality he meant that he wasn't sure.
"I'm not really sure... I go to bars a lot unfortunately. Good thing I have a high tolerance for alcohol."
Then she passed him the stuff that he really didn't care for. The hard core of hard core drinks, 100 proof alcohol. Of course, he wouldn't turn down an offer since she made one. Taking the glass in hand he held it to his lips then took two-three gulps before he put the glass back down on the table. Feeling his throat burn, his heart burn, and his nostrils clear all at once he took a large gulp of air and sighed contently.
"Phewwww.. Damn..."
He said, admittely taking a gulp of his pineapple vodka right after that to wash the hard taste of the drink from his mouth and throat. Letting the more soothing flavor take over.
"You want some more of this? Help yourself if you'd like.."
He put the bottle within reaching distance of her if she so decided that she wanted more to drink.

She nodded to the response, "you probable have, it's the only way I've only been in this city for little over a year" Nika went glancing out the window, one thing the heat killed was the snow, real snow not ste spray on shit she'd seen everywhere. She shook it off for now.
"that's not as potent as the home grown stuff I've sometimes had, could kill a horse some batches." She went gesturing to the glass, 100 proof was the strongest available on the market but there were crazy people who'd make stronger them selves though those batches were always different with their effects.
She studied his actions now, learning he wasn't one for the potent stuff that wasn't flavoured well, she glanced at the bottle with in reach now and at her half empty glass. She took it and filled the glass with it, mixing the potency with a fruit if it didn't taste like anything at least it'd give a kick

He looked her in the eye when she was giving a response. It was respectful to look others in the eye when you were talking to them, it was showing that you were paying attention to what ever they were saying. She was mentioning that she had only been here for about a year and he nodded with what she said and had been her practically all his life except for the few trips he had made over seas and in the states for certain exotic books.
Then she mentioned that there was stuff even stronger than the hundred percent stuff and he cringed for only a second because the higher the proof the more horrible the taste in his opinion so far. Aleister hadn't even been paying attention to the music at all tonight but a familiar song popped in over the speakers. Queen of the Stone Age - No One Knows, and he couldn't help taping his foot against the bar along with the rhythm of the music and he almost wanted to dance.
The Pineapple vodka was his favorite. The pineapples were even still in the bottle and it had to be made fresh. You couldn't even taste the alcohol if it was mixed right and it tasted nothing except straight pineapple juice with a little bit of a kick, which pleased him to no extent. Then his stomach made a noticeable rumble and he looked over at the woman he had just met, Nika.
"Nika, would you accompany me to get a bite to eat? I know an all night sushi bar that serves some fine sushi.."
Sushi, Chinese, his two favorite foods. Hopefully the woman would accompany him or unfortunately this night was going to end sooner rather than later for when his stomach growled he obeyed its command.

She downed half her new creation zoning out slightly. SHe wished something would kick in by now, it sorta sucked having suck a high tolerance especially since she wanted the kick the stuff usually gave. Before being turned she'd already had a high tolerance, a tolerance that was built up for survival, both sides of her family were filled with borderline alcoholics so it was essential to be able to hold her liquor cause staying for a drink turned into 4 or 5 and if never refuse a drink when they offered. Being turned heightened that tolerance making it a major buzz at times.
She zoned back in when there was a tapping noise. The wizard was making that noise, all cause of the music. She heard so much music on a normal day she'd tuned it out most of the time. She listened at home in her spare time when she felt like it. The current thing was decent enough though.
Then he'd spoken up, mentioned food, sushi. Frankly she didn't care as long as it was slightly edible.
"alright, since you'd offered, you're paying right?"

It was a side sight to see two paranormals who with all their might could barely get a buzz, and with extreme amounts of liquor could they only find the bliss in being intoxicated. Taking a large flask from his inside coat pocket he filled it up, then asked the bar keep for a paper bag. Snapping the cap back on he wrapped it in the paper bag then tucked it underneath his arm, the flash was already nestled back safely into his inside coat pocket.
"Of course I am paying."
He tossed some money on the bar table, enough to cover his cost and a little tip. He walked out between the people, making sure she was following close behind as they found their way finally out of the club and beside on another, heading towards the sushi place that was a block or two down the street.
"Have you ever tried sushi? I am pretty sure you'll like it. It's all raw seafood wrapped in rice with seaweed. Then there is this tasty sauce that is drizzled over them that is really sweet and just really brings out the flavor.."
He rambled off, taking the bottle and opening the cap, taking a brief gulp of it before he offered it to her to see if she wanted some more.

She smirked hearing the other was paying for the food at least. "good, you're a good host after all" She left a rather nice tip apart from the pay. She did this more cause she knew what the bartend er went through first hand, specially on the unspecified rowdy days that seemed to come out of no where.
She followed him quickly tying the jacket around her waist to leave her hands free to use. She looked around as they walked towards the place in silence till he'd broken the silence as usual. He'd been wondering if she liked the sushi, quite frankly she'd never tried but she could eat just about anything that was dubbed edible and the description was infact dubbed edible."If it's even remotely edible I'll eat it"

Alright, alright, I get it..."
They finally made into the sushi place and he sat himself down at the bar with her close to him. There was a rotating bar on a conveyor belt, and you could see the sushi chief in the back making the fresh sushi as people took it. There was a two other people there eating here on the other side of the bar, but they wouldn't even over hear anything they had to say.
He grabbed a rather large variety platter for the both of them. That had spicy crab, shrimp sushi, tuna sushi, spam sushi, just a bunch of different tastes and flavors. He then also grabbed a deep bowl of the sauce with a spoon already in it. As he grabbed a piece of sushi and drizzled some of the sauce on it then put it in his mouth and enjoyed it thoroughly. Putting the bowl of sweet sauce between them so she could drizzle it on to he swallowed his first piece and spoke.
"If there is anything that looks good on the belt then go ahead and grab it."
He said as he then shoved another piece in his mouth, and followed it with a swig from the bottle.

"good, though it's not hard to get, I hope" She went now staring at the conveyer belt off food, there were so many choices and more being made off at the side which was quite a show. There were also other people here. She sat there getting quite hungry from it all.
She stared at the plate with in arms reach and took a random piece ignoring the sauce and popped it in her mouth before realizing it's spicy, and not just a little spicy like fire spicy, it was good so she took another. Then she was told she could take anything on the conveyer belt, there was a problem.
"that would be everything though?" She went

He watched her plop the piece of sushi into her mouth with a satisfying grin on his lips. Seeing the look on her face as she experienced the flavor of her first piece of sushi was priceless and she plopped another piece into her mouth after knowing that it was good. He then moved onto the shrimp sushi as she asked him an odd question and really wasn't sure what to make of it.
"On this platter there are most of the sushi's. This is a sampling and usually what I get when I just come here alone. They also serve a few Chinese courses on the belt, they also serve a fried sushi that's cooked for seconds and the objects stay fresh and savory inside that are not on the platter. So help yourself o anything you lay your eyes on. I am feeling generous tonight, and it is the start to a New Year ya know?"
He said with a smile on his face as he plopped another piece into his mouth and the platter was far from done for the two. To follow the sushi down he took a swig of his drink and the sushi cook seemed to not mind, probably because he was a regular here, usually twice a week sometimes more if he really needed his sushi fix and they always served the highest quality and he hadn't gotten sick yet.
"So what do you think of the sushi? More than just edible?"
