Not an animal made a sound.
An eerie silence clung to the forest. It was as though every living creature knew that there was something here that wasn't right. Something dark, haunting, a predator among prey. It was as though the forest itself held a breath. The amber eyes of a wolf stared not out of a wolf's face but out of a man's. This was his element. His place. Where he belonged. He didn't know how this pack did things but hoped that they wouldn't force him to live in the city. He could live near the Lupanar, guard the territory, make sure no one trespassed. It seemed like a good idea to him. He hated the city with it's crowded feel and stench. All that noise got on his nerves, made him want to lash out and hurt something. Preferably what was causing it. But here, here he could be what he was meant to be. To him being a wolf wasn't just an ordeal he had to go through every full moon, it was who he was, what he was.
He wasn't wearing much tonight. He preferred not to when he wanted to go for a run. The only thing he wore was a part of black baggy shorts that had started out life as pants but after the bottoms became too wrecked he had cut them off. They hung to about mid calf. Silver glinted when the slivers of moonlight through the trees caught it. The silver claws were in place on the fingers of his left hand, as always. He also had a ring through each nipple. Pain was something he enjoyed, something he got off on whether it was inflicted upon him or him inflicting it. Didn't matter how it was given he enjoyed it. Silver was something that hurt lycanthropes. A burning pain that scarred. He knew about that. Learned it when he was young. The scars at each end of his mouth were proof of that lesson. The 'twisted smile' was a reminder of why his father had deserved to die. A reminder that no one would ever push him around again.
He'd almost came right there in the chair as the female pierced him. She was lovely to look at but he didn't do humans. That didn't mean that he didn't think about her all bloodied and cut up, no he had. But he wasn't into humans. He preferred his own kind to the weak sheep. A scent brought to his nose made him stop. He angled his head towards the sky and listened. Seemed he wasn't the only wolf about in the forest. There was another. After another deep breath in it was deemed female. A dark brow rose above wolf eyes. So it seemed he would be meeting another of the pack. He moved forward in that predatory way of his. There was a slight curiosity to him but only slight. Every sense was on alert. Thoughts whirled through his head as he moved towards the scent.

Just Lethal herself and her little showy-white wolf cub, Skulln’bones. Though Skull, Skully, or Bones worked just as well to address the young little wolf.
It was a common occurrence for Lethal to run through the woods or any forested area with the wolf, so it could get real exercise. When she shifted fully, she often acted as a surrogate parent for little Bones. Teaching it the things a wolf should know and reacted just as protectively over the cub as she did her own, very human daughter. However, tonight was just supposed to be a romp through the thicket.
The red spiked cyber goggles acted as a headband, holding all her thick black waves of hair off her face as she ran, the chime-like tinkle of the chains on her bracelet, necklace, earrings and ear cuffs sung out like a sweet little bird’s tune to Lethal’s ears. There was no burning sensation on her ears today. The outfit lacked in silver.
However, as if it were true silver, the moonlight glinted off the metal of Lethal’s outfit all the same. The wolf cub in it’s pure white fur moved like a ghostly phantom along behind her, as if bathed in the moonlight, the young cub possessed a near haunting glow in the night shine. Her boots hit the ground with soft thuds as her black as pitch hair flowed behind her like some black flag of warning. She was a streak of red, white and black as she moved among the shadows of the forest, followed closely behind by the blur of white that was the cub.
There was no destination in mind for Lethal as she ran, she simply… did. Giving herself over to the instincts of her beast to guide her feet, allowing them to take her where they would. Lethal wasn’t familiar with the area enough to actually know where she was going anyways. She and her daughter were still so new around town; after all, they had arrived in New Orleans only, what, a week ago? Lethal was still in the stage of getting lost trying to find anything when she strayed a few blocks from her home.
Her thoughts wandered as she let her feet send her flying through the forest. She had left Hell to finish her homework and trusted the 12 year old not to do anything Lethal herself would likely do in Hell’s situation. Hell was such a smart child, it amazed Lethal, most days, that she and her daughter were so different. A smile tugged itself onto Lethal’s full and pouty lips. It was almost as if Hell was the adult between the two of them, some days! Though, thinking further, Lethal supposed she had none to blame for that fact but herself.
The smile faded off into a frown at that thought. She should really try to improve, she supposed. Sure, Lethal herself hadn’t had much of a chance to be a kid when she should have, but that didn’t give her the right to deprive Hell either!
The frown had deepened when a new scent hit her nose, wiping all former emotions clean off her place only to be replaced by her drawn-on eyebrows arched in surprise.
She smelt another wolf?
Lethal was new enough that she had yet to meet most of the Pack, so she couldn’t help but feel a slight bit nervous. Not really, purely because she would be meeting a member of her new family, but more because she wasn’t quite sure how her little Skully would react to another werewolf. The next time her foot hit the ground, Lethal turned on said foot and caught the ball of white fur in mid-air, then righting herself, still holding the fluffy white wolf cub in her grasp as she watched the location she could smell the other wolf coming from. Tiny little Skully was feeling brave, apparently, and on scenting the “intruder”, started growling low in it’s still baby throat, the whole show much more cute than threatening. Lethal giggled at the cub’s attempt to protect her, as futile as they were. It was adorable, none the less.
She stroked it’s fuzzy little head in attempts to calm it down and when the approaching werewolf came into view, an eyebrow raised at his… attire… or lack there of for the most part. This area was a popular camping spot for people, wasn’t it? Lethal momentarily wondered if he had caused any children to scream in fright at the very sight of him yet, then quietly giggled to herself at the thought. What a funny sight that would be! Though sad for the child… but still funny.
“You know, most restaurants and fast-food joints have a no shirt, no shoes, no service rule. You planning on shifting some time soon?” She asked, referring to his current attire. Don’t get her wrong! It was cool alright… She supposed it was just a little of a strange sight to her because she was so used to it actually being cold during January, which would make being caught outside without shoes or a shirt, a red flag sign of lycanthropy.
